Would his visa be linked to his passport? If so surely this would have been picked up on at the time the application was lodged.

We had the same rumour with Hastings. People tend to take half a tale then fill in the gaps themselves. My money is in the club just giving him a bit longer to be with his family, recover from the last season etc.
