Apparently the guy who took over said that only a Grand Final Win will secure the future for them for next year! I hope they do win win GF because i think SL needs them! they have been the most improved team to watch this year with low crowds and a low budget! and a superb Manager who has stuck with them

It wouldn’t surprise you in the slightest sadly. They’ll have 3,000-3,500 fans in that north stand tomorrow yet at least half of them don’t turn up for many games during a season. We have Lenagan talking about our crowds and how we need an extra 1,000 a week to break even and how we lost £1.4m. We’re struggling along on average gates 3 or 4 times bigger than Salford’s. I get that Salford won’t spend as much on the cap as us but it’s still no surprise they’re struggling financially when they can’t get more then a couple of thousand home fans through the gates most weeks. A new stadium should always be a positive move for a club but it’s never felt that way for Salford.

I assume this was from the BBC Radio 5 Live podcast.

At no point did Ian Blease say they could go boom. He admitted they still have debts, which they are paying off. He also stated that a GF appearance or win would pay for a marquee player or a high wage demanding player.

He never once intimated Salford were going to go bust and was happy and confident in the future of Salford. This post is absolutely untrue.

It says they could go bust on teletext if they do not win the GF because they cannot afford the wages of the players and rent of there ground!
