| Is this the end of his career? Looked like a pectoral tear and surely one injury too many.

| An injury summed up by the one big flaw in his game, the lazy high shot. Frustrating. If it’s the same as Faz I can’t see him being back for when we make our annual trip to Old Trafford in October.

| Regrettably I think Wigan need to take the decision out of Sean's hands now.

| Couldn’t make it up, O’Loughlin’s career ended by a high shot, from him.

Probably weakened his pec with all those trophies he's held high during his career.

| We’ll wait and see how bad the injury is but I certainly wouldn’t be surprised to see him call it quits at the end of the year. I’d love to think that we’ve signed French, Hastings, Burgess and co on the back of just Williams, Sarginson and a few kids leaving but I’m convinced we’ll see another exit or two yet.

| I suspect we will see him again next year. I am sure he would want the opportunity to play with the guys coming in next year and I doubt the club would stop that happening.

| Wigan are 4-0 down and losing the arm wrestle in the middle of the pitch.
Hull are controlling the go forward and a try looks inevitable given the pressure and field position they have had.
Enter Locky, nearly instantly the game changes. Wigan turn the momentum round.
Not long after they put together one of the best constructed sets I’ve seen in a very long time to score a try from a cross field kick.
Who is instrumental in directing that set? Who takes the ball on the 4th didn’t get excited near the line but instead took the carry to the exact spot in needed to be in the field to set up the play?
Obviously the answer is Locky.
His body is clearly fading, however he needs to play next year for several reasons.
1. The comp isn’t set up where you need to have your best players on the pitch every week. You can literally wrap him in cotton wool and just use him when he is needed.
2. He is clearly still our leader. Faz seems to be developing into that mould as does Powell but neither in my opinion are ready to step up permanently in that role.
3. He is still a top class player when fit. You simply can’t replace that.
4. Smithies needs game time and experience but also not over exposure, Locky can still provide that support.
5. Locky has given everything he has to Wigan through some very good times but also some very difficult times. I feel he has earned the right to play on, if he wants to, for one last year which may well see us evolve the way we play and have a real opportunity to challenge on all fronts in 2020.
I’m enjoying this year but I can’t see anyone stopping Saints but next year I think we have a real opportunity, he deserves the chance to go out on a high.
Terrible news if he is gone for the season, for Wigan and him personally. He will however recover I’ve no doubt and want to come back for more, and I think 1 more year is not just a gesture of loyalty but a necessity to complete the post Wane transition of the team.

'When fit' are the keywords, Jon.
This isn't something we can just dismiss because we wish it was otherwise.
A few minutes each game is not good enough at this level, and it disadvantages us from the start in that it almost immediately wastes a bench-spot.

Locky doesn’t play last night, we lose in my opinion.
Changed the momentum of the game instrumental in the set that lead to the 8 point try.
He needs a long rest now, which he will get due to the pec injury sadly.
A good opportunity to rest the body and one last go at it next year.

In fairness Lam probably felt like he had no other option but to play him every week during tough times early on. He probably also didn't have full knowledge of his injury record and how Wane used to carefully manage his workload (i.e. 2 or 3 games then a rest etc).
In total he's played 19 games this year - exactly the same amount as in 2018 and 2016. In 2017 he played 26 games.
If he was to play some games next year I'd be taking it back another notch where he would primarily be a trainee coach who could play a handful of games if it was felt it was needed. We can't be reliant on him any more and we can't have more games when he breaks down after a few minutes leaving us with 16.
He might have already decided to finish before the injury for all we know.

Reading his views on Burgess he has indicated that he will be playing alongside him next season.

| If it is a pec injury then I’d assume that’s Lockers season done with.
