George Burgess will be a great signing for you guys if his body is still up to the rigours of footy, as some pundits over in OZ reckon that his body is shot and that he is only capable of 20 minute spells, is this why Souths wanted shut and why no NRL club picked him up?
Time will tell how good he will be but IMO he is a massive upgrade on your current front rowers
I would have loved him at the Rhinos tbh and I would have taken the risk on him

I don’t agree with this. Maybe just maybe falling gated and a lack of star quality that has affected the entertainment, affected gates and led to a general malaise has forced there hand.
Having said that this is absolutely not a thread for negativity.
Congratulations and thanks indeed are owed to IL and KR for getting this one over the line and the standard to recruitment for next year.
Massive signing for the club, and Super League.
One other real benefit of this is that I think it will put us firm favourites for if/when his brothers are looking for a couple of years back in SL, although I don’t expect we could fit all 3 under a salary cap.
That’s a secondary thought though at the moment the thought of having a real world class Prop still in his prime is a fantastic result for the club. |
