| On top for a large portion of the game, lacked a little attacking sense at times but a win is a win and I was mightily impressed with Paisley tonight. Woods and Fields went well as well tonight IMO.

Field was terrible.
Hamlin was superb for the most part as was Paisley.
Woods improving with every week and great effort to get the drop goal over.

Wouldn’t say he was terrible, he had a decent game.
I agree about Hamlin, he was class tonight and MOM by a country mile.

| Field looked out of his depth tonight which I’ve not thought before. Hamlin was immense as was Marshall, Woods, Bateman and Tomkins. Big pat on the back to the whole team, he’ll of a win!

| Under the conditions the heat must have took a huge toll of the players stamina both teams gave it their all .The Hill penalty should have gone Wigan's way he elbowed twice in the face. The young players stood out tonight helped by the senior players we can play without Lockers.

| Not just me with Field then. I’ve never seen anything in him that makes me think he’s anywhere near ready for first team rugby. Maybe a tad harsh as he’s clearly trying but physically he’s way off.

| I thought Field went well but we’ll agree to disagree.
Still plenty of improvement in that side for me. I think we looked lost in attack sometimes and the sets before the Paisley try we were throwing the ball around like a hot potato with no clue what to do with it.

In fairness it’s not a night for criticising young players so I do feel harsh having a go at the kid but it’s simething I’ve felt since I first saw him in the side. On the flip side Paisley looks comfortable and had a big night. I’d love to know what’s going on with Jack Wells whilst on the subject of young forwards. I think he’s a terrific talent but he seems to have vanished.

Jack Wells broke a bone in his foot in the pre season game at Leigh. He’s just getting back to full fitness and will be like signing a new player once he’s back

He definitely will. I think he’s a terrific young player who just needs an injury free run in the side to really kick on. He’s another big body along with Joe Greenwood who in the long term can add some size to the pack.

| Thought it was a compelling game tonight. A lot of good performances particularly in the first half. I’d agree with Hamlin for MOM, he was all over the place.
I also thought the ref had a good game overall though 2 decisions irked me as they both led to Warrington tries. One was hill and Hamlin, how exactly is Hamlin meant to move out of the ruck if hill is on top of him after elbowing him in the face? The other is when Bateman dropped the ball leading to Charnley’s Try. That was a clear shoulder charge, arm by the side not making a tackle and rotated into it.
Big raps to Woods for having the balls to stick that one over at the end.

| That was a great game for us neutrals. Without watching it back there wasn't a great deal of flowing rugby from either side but the effort from them both was awesome. Didn't realise until after how young a lot of your players were. Hope the new coach keeps faith in them for the long term

I agree. The Hamlin penalty really annoyed me and if we'd lost a close game with that decision in the mix it would have been one of the rare times I'd have been on here blaming the ref (despite the fact we should have kicked the penalty near the end but we will ignore that for now....).
Where has Paisley sprung from? He's huge. Looked right at home, gave it a real good go and was not phased at all.

| Flower for mine was outstanding, particularly his first spell.
Tommy was the game changer though for me, we looked lost when he was off the field.
The last set sums Bateman up for me. He clearly thought he needed to make up for the turn over that lead to the levelling score. Some players would have hidden, he worked his backside off to get us in position for the drop goal. 2 quality drives in that set to help Woods get the kick over.

Just posted something similar on Mike's forum about TL. Thought he was really up for it and when he was off in the 2nd half we lacked direction.
