Does not say that he is injured, bet they do not want to risk Sam on the Ipitch

100% agree with this

Edit: Actually, I'd have Navarette start and Sutton come off bench. But personnel wise yes.

Am I right in saying Sam has never played on that on that pitch?

Bar games against Saints on there in 2011

From the squad I’d go

Escare
Davies
Sarginson
Gildart
Marshall
Williams
Powell
Clubb
Leaulai
Naverette
Isa
Bateman
Sutton

Hamlin
Ganson
Field
Tautai

Leave Lockers our Widnes are struggling. Burgess just rested by the way. Hopefully this can be the game Sarge gets going!

Games against he current bottom 4 are games we should be resting players and blooding Field and Ganson

Glad we are using the opportunity to rest and rotate. That should help us later in the Challenge Cup and Super 8s. I'd give Lockers and Budgie the week off as well.

A bit dodgy playing Davies on the i-pitch if he's just getting over an ankle injury.

Wouldn't surprise me if Marshall keeps his place. Not let anybody down in some big games, sure Davies will get back in the side soon but he'd be my bet to miss out for this one.

I'm probably in a minority of one on here but I don't agree that this is a good idea. I think we should, unless injured, play our best team at all times. We came a cropper at Widnes not so long ago because of playing a weakened team and we didn't actually have it all our own way when we played them at home a few weeks ago.

It’s still a very strong team, though, this time. I think it’s a sensible selection.

WEP reports that he has a foot injury, but yeah, he’s never played on the new pitch. Sarge also in doubt with the back spasm that kept him out v Cas.

That approach is what stopped us winning the double in 2011 IMO. We won 20, drew 1, lost 1 in the run up to the final, then we ran out of steam and won 2 lost 3 of our last games to miss out on the League Leaders and the Grand Final. I'm a big fan of rotating when we are strong, giving the fringe players the experience of playing in a winning team, rather than chucking them all in at once when injuries inevitably hit.

We have to take in to consideration the Widnes absentees as well. We’ve rested four and they’re missing 7 or 8 through injury so there really is no excuse.

We look like a side that fancies a crack at the LLS this season and to be in with a chance you need to be boxing off games like this and Salford at Home next week.
