| Latest interview from Mr Lenegan is on Wigan TV now.
Some interesting points made.
Disappointed with the season overall - feels we should have beaten Hull in the cup semi and missing out on the league leaders but is confident we can win tomorrow and win the grand final.
Says our attack hasn't clicked at all this season and puts that down to the volume of injuries.
Says Wigan have been talking to around 6 players over the last few weeks weighing up their options due to injury and which team gets relegated etc.
No attacking coach to come in at the end of the season - sounds like they're happy with Tommy coming back and the influence he will bring.
Some points made about safe standing - not a priority.
Disappointed with the attendances and how many tickets being sold - reviewing season ticket prices and match day ticket prices.
Simon Collinson currently reviewing fan surveys, understandably will take time and looks forward to hearing the feedback.
Talks about the RL in general - says he doesn't agree with the current format but thinks we should stick with it for the 3 years and then review where we are at. Feels RFL should put SL first by pumping money into the SL instead of spreading across the championship and thinks thats the reason the quality has dwindled. Also talks about Bilko and the issues he has raised about the game and says he agrees with the majority of points made.
Finally an interesting point about how we came 2nd in the RL museum vote. Says the club and council invested lots of money and time in preparing their concept. Says the was going to be a museum on on the pier and a bar/hospitality in the old orwell which would have been great but unfortunately didn't get the nod. Says they're looking at a different location but basically said it isn't as good as the original concept.
Various of other points made too but just a general overview for people who don't have Wigan TV - certainly an interesting watch if you do.

| It certainly sounds like we will be seeing outgoings and incomings before next year.
It was promising to hear him say that if Sam's injury is what they think it is then the investment in him will prove to be a shrewd one (I'm taking that to be he'd be back for the start if next season).

| Well, yes it is, but it means, in effect, no excuses next season. We need to see a player who really lives up to that 'marquee' tag.

We do and I'm confident.
I saw a player settling back in nicely, playing in a different manner to his previous stint but getting towards being as effective and then he got injured against Wakefield and we didn't see the best of him again (until about 35 minutes onwards away in his last game at Wire).
Fingers crossed.

Definitely. He said on more than one occasion that if the club were to bring players in there some players will have to leave. I suppose the writings on the wall. Surely Mossop, Hampshire and Connor Farrell's days are numbered...

| He's clearly unhappy about the job the RFL is doing!
Criticised the structure of the comp and needed funds filtering down to the championship. He had a go at them for still not having the details of the world club series sorted and he wasn't happy that they didn't decide what days 1st vs 4th and 2nd vs 3rd in these play offs would play until very late in the day. I fear I'll be sat here in 20 years saying the game is still being run by idiots but surely their time is up?!!
On the plus side he's heard some rumours Thursday nights may be shelved and we've asked for some Sunday games next year.

And where's the money going to come from?
The majority of SL clubs are running at a loss(some of them BIG ones)

If I was in a position to buy a struggling club, I'd look at Koukash as a cautionary tale. He has shown that no matter how much money you have, you won't be able to come in and buy quality players to start challenging for honours. Surely if we increased the cap we would stand a better chance of attracting investors.

I can't help feeling that if Koukash had brought a more thoughtful approach to his club-building, he could have done a lot more with Salford.
He signed too many idiots, and perhaps should and could have really splashed the cash on a top coach. Tim Sheens was too little too late.
But I don't disagree with you about the cap. It's starting to cripple the game.

100%
He should have looked at Simon Moran for the model of how to build a club. Do it gradually, take the opportunities to buy the top end players when it comes about (and try to stay clear of loose cannons) but most importantly build the academy up! Wire went round signing up some top young talent such as Ben Currie and they're now bearing fruit.
We've spoke about our own missing players but I have to give Wire credit last night. They were missing a number of players and they had a bench full of youngsters (and a couple in the staring 13) yet they've made it to a Grand Final. That is a reward for the improvements they've made in regards to bringing players through. Had that happened to them 6 or 7 years ago they wouldn't have been able to cope but back up from the likes of Patton, Wilde, King x2, Philbin etc is ensuring they now can.
It's a lesson to any club looking to build. It's a model Leigh need to look at also. They'll only get so far throwing money at first team players in this era.
