| Sean breaks down in the warm up. Such a shame.

Time to pack in and concentrate on coaching. We need the cap space for players who will play. Phenomenal servant to the club. A true legend but time to call it a day.

20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

| I'll be gutted to see him retire but you're a long time retired, if he does have that in his mind and is looking at retiring at least play 1 more game.

| It was the final nail in the coffin for me tonight. I've been a long time Lockers backer, even in the early days when he divided opinion but we can't afford to keep carrying his salary.
It should be a big thank you for the memories and a place on the coaching staff IMO.

| It's sad to see the growing animosity that's building momentum now, a feeling that he's becoming more of a liability, than an asset. A great player, and ambassador for our game, but like Paul Simon said “everything put together sooner or later falls apart”. So I agree with a lot of fans who now say, thanks, but it really is time to go now.

I'm not sure there's animosity towards him but people are clearly concerned. In days gone by I think people would have been able to show far more patience but nowadays the club is pressured by the salary cap. It's tough to carry a top earner on your cap that you know will miss as many games as he plays. There's also a big difference now to a couple of years ago and that is that when he does make the field he's nowhere near as effective as he was.
I'd love to see him make the semi or final and have a swan song but sadly I doubt the club can take that risk.

| I look at players like Ellis and Peacock who had injury patches and came back, if SOL plays over the semi and final with fitness tests that give him a green light that he's likely to play the full game without issues, then great. Does 50% of a game with SOL justify his place over another player? I'm not sure, but I would love for him to play in the Final pickup a winners medal and have a high point.
Does that mean retirement immediately? Probably not, avoid the internationals and concentrate on rehab. Start next season, see how it goes. There is a clause in the salary cap to allow a retiring player to be removed from the cap, so why not see how he is after a long rest? Worst case, he gets a few games and looks at retirement, best case the time to get his body better recovered gives him a new lease of life.

| This is where the SC, I know not all of his salary counts howvever can we afford to have a player taking up SC space who seems so prone to injury? Without the cap I'd keep him on, with it I'm not sure.

| We have to be able to match th Hull pack to have a chance, if O'Loughlin is fit he plays if it's 50/50 then I would stick with Bretherton on bench same as last week
