| Fallen back into that mentality.
Strong leadership required from our Chairman who at the moment seems very absent.
Every key position in the club is filled by former players.
We need the best their is off the field. What is happening at the moment harps back to the pre Madge era at the club.

| The famous Wigan Way, which now seems to mean wrestle and slow down the ruck at all costs. Have your backs do the hard yards, flog them in training and wonder why so many pick up injuries away from the pitch, try to prove you are tougher than the opposition rather than play rugby, and resort to the most robotic style of rugby that has ever been seen.
Personally would be quite open to looking at another way given what it currently seems to stand for.

| Its sad to see. Wigan were a team that everyone admired for their wonderful open play. Names like Robinson, Offiah, Lydon, etc were legendary and unfortunately that's not the case with the present setup. Major surgery needed I think, starting with a coach who appreciates what real rugby league is all about.

| I dont think its all about the Wigan team but the entire SL seems to have gone backwards 25 years , the standard of rugby now throughout the league seems very low, most teams look absolutley lost in attack and none of them have any real go forward and its all about defence and territory which is dire to watch , you would have thought after they world club challenge we would have had a good look at our game and saw that the fundementals of all the clubs just arent working , go back 25 years and look at the Wigan team and then 10-15 years back looking at the saints and Bradford teams , the only thing I can point out that seemed to be good long term and stable was the Leeds academy set up , I think we need to go back to 1-2 overseas players and look towards scrapping the salary cap again , it helped short term but its long term consiquences are plain to see from my pov.
also this forum is shyt compared to the old one, its as slow as SL ( havnt posted for a while)

| Who are you getting at Jon when you mention jobs for the boys?
The only back room changes I think are in drastic need of change is bringing someone in as assistant coach to help with our attack.

| Wayne Bennett was big enough to bring back Kevin Walters at Brisbane to work with the half-backs and Shaun Wane needs to do something similar with our stuttering and eminently predictable attack. His current assistants might be competent coaches but do they ever dare challenge Wane? The Wigan set-up certainly looked a lot stronger with Deacon and Harris alongside him.

| Have you watched the Broncos lately? They don't look like a side with a master tactician in charge. They've looked as clueless as Wigan lately. And Hunt looks a shadow of the player he was last year.

This. Wane is a very good HEAD coach (good motivator, makes us very tough to beat etc.) but clearly we've lost something in attack that he can't replace on his own; it's no coincidence that we've been on a decline attacking wise since Deacon and Harris left. There's no big overhaul needed at the club, just one or two wise heads that know how to get a team clicking in attack.
You could relate it in some ways to Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, for all his success he was never regarded as a great tactician, but he had great coaches around him that could teach the more technical aspects to his players. It never made him any less of a manager, nor does it make Wane any less of a coach.

Never mind last year, re-wind a few months of this season and the Broncos, imo, were the most exciting side in the NRL. Not sure if their just busted from Origin but the Aussies reckon it's to do with his extra workload for England.

Waney got rid of his assistants so he could have complete control, the ego maniac has that now and has failed, time for him to go.
We need a new brush to sweep clean and regain our reputation.

These are stupid comments with no bearing in reality.
I doubt Wane has anything like that much power, and as others have said, Wigan wanted Deacon and Harris to stay, but as usual there was silly money on offer elsewhere.
You might not be happy with Wane's coaching - many aren't, but making up rubbish won't help anyone.

Harris didn't have many nice words for his ex-boss.
Waney hasn't had an assistant with any real clout since and surrounded himself by yes men so i'm not too sure it's far from the truth.
