| Any opinions? Although we lost against Warrington it seemed a good first outing. Warrington gave a run out to some seasoned pros like Gene Ormsby and we gave Burke a run out, that may explain why we came second. Although I have not finished watching it on Wigan TV it was nice to see a pitch without ducks. If you get a chance have a look at the take of the high ball by Gildart at about 3 mins.

Maybe wrong but I think that was Liam Marshall taking the high ball, No 2 on his back but playing on the left wing.
Ollie Gildart picked the ball up from dummy half after Marshalls catch.

If Saints have that many talented youngsters, they'd better get them into the first team sharpish to face the Roosters, judging by Thursday's dismal effort.

This is what I don't understand. On Thursday it was mentioned again on Sky about this fantastic academy system at Saints. Then when you look at the team they turned out, ten of them have been brought in from elsewhere.
I've just seen the tries from todays game on Wigan t.v and Saints looked a far bigger and better team.

The thing with our academy at the minute is we're producing slightly average Super League players for ourselves and average ones for other teams but we're not producing stars. Our last regular international from our academy was Roby who debuted in 2004. Wigan in that time have had Farrell, Joel Tomkins, George Williams, Joe Burgess and Sam Tomkins debut (off the top of my head) since then who are international class. We bring through a lot of decent players, but they're nothing more than that at the minute. Hopefully the likes of Percival, Savelio and Thompson really kick on this year.

| Liam Marshalls catch against Warrington was superb, and his two tries against Saints were very good finishes too. Do you think he's worth a run out in a cup game or maybe against Wakefield or something? Or do you not see him anywhere near the first team?

James Graham and Kyle Eastmond was international class.

Graham made his debut before Roby. Eastmond I forgot about but he's not around anymore.
