By no means is this an excuse for last nights loss, as HKR obviously played the ref better than us.
I was wondering how many other people are getting fed up with the lack of consistancy of refereeing in SL.
I wouldnt be a fan of 2 refs on the pitch ( As per NRL) but they seem a lot kore consistant with regards to the speed of the ruck and where the line is drawn with slowing the PTB.
One week its policed for a fast ruck making for a better watch, and the next week you can make a brew between the play of the ball.
Its been frustrating me for weeks and for what its worth HKR we full value for thier win last night before anyone calls this a bitter post..

Tend to agree, those Rucks were terrible ,HKR were falling asleep they were lying on that long. That being said, we need more Referees, so if a Referee has a bad game he can drop to the Championship until he gets his act together as they do in Football, but seeing the numpties we have in charge of the game I can't see that happening anytime soon, one thing that puzzled me last night was Charnley,a couple of times he had the outside but didn't take it ,last season he would have been gone, I reckon he was unfit or he's lost his confidence, anyway roll on next year.lol

its not lost on me how difficult its must be being a ref but i agree ... If a player has a shocker he is dropped the week after, maybee the RFL should be looking at getting more top flight refs rather than trying to spead the game from lands end to john o groats.
Re charnley he seems to have lost some gas for sure. HKR did defend alot wider that the last time we played them That may have been a factor but im sure josh will soon be skining people for fun again .

folks, excuses coming think and fast bar a decision here or there was nothing wrong with the officials performance. They will never get it 100% right anymore than a team catches every ball and passes every ball backwards.....

we were beaten across the field because they wanted it more....with the exception of Tautai not one forward ran onto the ball. If Crosby is a forward I am at back at 17 stone. People were creaming on here about Williams performance against KR.....who didn't turn up who didn't pressure him. went missing tonight along with smith but that is the forwards fault. about time we stopped ing about with Logan and Powell they are not good enough to play RL at super league level. We are devoid of direction and pace when Micky Mac is off. he needs to play 80 minutes.

If McIlorum has to play 80 minutes then we will lose his intensity in defence, it's that simple.

it didnt used to be a problem for him, why now?

We got kicked to death by Campese. We have hit form by not letting the opposition halves dictate the game. Much of this has come about by putting pressure on the kicker on the last tackle, particularly by Tony Clubb. No Clubb and Campese had all the time in the world to put up bombs to Hampshire in what were already difficult conditions.

Get beat - blame ref

im talking about the SL in gerneral , forget about the HKR game or any other wigan gamefor that matter. Im talking about the inconsistant refereeing in gerneral, i clearly stated that the ref wasnt to blame for the defeat by HKR.

Seems to be more or less the same every game for me. The way to get a faster ruck is to win the collision and find the floor quickly, we didn't do that v Hull KR. An interesting point to note - our rucks are slightly faster than the NRLs

The referee didn't make as many mistakes as the Wigan players. However he did get two BIG ones wrong. The ball steal on Crosby given as a lost ball and the HKR offside at the scrum when Sarginson dropped the ball. Overall I don't think he gave a bad performance but in a close game those calls were crucial.
I've said a few times about that play at the scrum being risk and reward, this time the reward went to HKR.

The Crosby one is a tough call when I take my Wigan specs of. The Hull KR player has his hand trapped then the ball comes free as he releases himself. I'm inclined to call that a loose carry to be honest, its one of those where it will seem harsh whichever way it goes IMO

We didn't go from 60-0 to 12-16 in two weeks because of the referee!
To me it looked as though Silverwood was going to penalise the HKR player until the TJ's intervention. Tough one that.
Although I have to say our attack was pretty poor.
If that first 10-12 mins had been played at the DW then we'd have been 2-3 tries up.
Those same moves don't come off away from the DW hence the endless poor away results.
We need a Gameplan A for the DW
Then, a Gameplan B for away games.
The same Gameplan for home and away games isn't working as results prove so change it and improve it.
