| Not one to usually slag off individuals but these two are way way off the pace Both have been appalling signings to date and simply aren't producing the goods.
Patrick scored a good try today and actually had what I thought was his best game up until two knock ons that killed our momentum down their end at 18-14. He's simply not been up to the required level.
As for Tautai I think he's avoided a lot of criticism due to the side struggling in general and Patricks lack of form but he's a liability. He's constantly getting back in the line after the other players and looks so far off Wigan standard it's untrue.

| Said the same at the match about Tautai. He's always late back resetting into the line, and at times very lazy leaving us short on numbers. He does offer us some go forward but in defence today he was very poor.
On Patrick, he had a good first half but those 2 errors when momentum was going our way were criminal. I'm not too bothered about the defeat today, Salford were well up for today and we played poorly and actually did well to run them close.

| Neither will be in the squad once Flower and Crosby are back IMO. Patrick should be up at Workington for a few weeks now, but on current form they'll probably send him back. He's decent in defence but offers nothing going forward and always looks like he's got a soft error in him. I agree the 2 knocks on today completely killed our momentum when we started looking like we were getting back into it.

| Yeah, I think fans *want* to like Tautai (Mr T, etc), but the cold fact is he doesn't offer much end-product, or hasn't so far, anyway. There was a comment on the Wish commentary about how knackered he looked today, well before the end.

| I was going to post a very similar comment.
Patrick is far too small. Offers us nothing and if you gave me the option to have Jack Hughes back Id snap your hand off.
Tautai does look promising at times but he only seems capable of 10 minute spells; he manages less minutes than Mose Masoe. Also, he does offer an offload a lot but we're not an offloading team. Today proved it when he made a break and tried to offload and no one even looked interested in having the ball. Fitness is his main problem though.

| I've always thought Patrick is one of thos players that comes up with 1 or 2 highlight reel moments every few games but his overall contribution leaves a lot to be desired.

| Tautai has no excuse for tiredness unlike the other guys either as he didn't play much on Friday.
This isn't scapegoating or anything like that and it's based on a number of games now. He doesn't look in the class of a player I'd expect to see turning out for Wigan. If he'd come from a second tier comp in NZ like Gelling did people would think its an inexpensive gamble and would be thinking of cutting our losses but this guy was meant to have had a pretty good season in superleague last year.
Maybe he'll improve. He's going to need to!!

I'm not sure you can loan out someone who's on loan.

HE was playing for Wakey though so expectations were lower, and it was probably easier for him to stand out. Similar with Patrick, expectations were lower at Hudds so his his short comings are more easily forgiven.

His first spell was 15 mins today and his second was longer than that. Half an hour + is fine for an impact prop. Minutes aren't the issue. Whether he is actually making a decent impact and up to speed in defence is another question, personally I don't think he is.

| Didn't go to the game and just reading the comments.
Don't know why everyone's surprised at Patrick's knock ons. He was always good for a couple when in a Hudds shirt. Good quick player suitable for hard fast grounds. Not a player for the DW last Friday, nor I'd have thought if you were trying up-size your pack.
Result doesn't surprise me at all. I don't know how they could possibly recover from playing on that slippy glue pot of a pitch last Friday. See Saints lost against what Hull FC fans seem to think they are the 2nd worst team in the league. Their players looked even more tired and laquered than ours on Friday. Looks like they couldn't recover either!
Mind you well done to Salford and Hull FC for taking full advantage.

| Tautai is a player I have a lot of time for. He is capable of big minutes and has proven that at Trinity. The main issue with him is he extremely athletic and unfortunately that often means you are very injury prone. He has played in the wing has great strength and power and is very lean, unless he is injured he needs more time in the pitch and to be used as a game changer.
Patrick is a shocking player. Feet for hands and no impact. Offers absilutley nothing. I feel we need Gelling in the backrow and I hope if/when we get Thornley back we see that move.

| Wane praised Tautai after the game. I can't agree. Did ok going forward but he's a total liability defensively.

Just seen that as well. You have to wonder if he knows what he's talking about sometimes.

| Sounds like Patrick is playing like he did for us. A few good plays which look good and not much else. You can keep him... We have enough players who can't hold onto the ball at the Giants at the moment.
