| let alone burst through a defensive line.
awful performance yet again......no creativity, no forwards, and who is George Williams, was he playing tonight, Smith kicking game is non existent.
Bowen must have lead in his boots!
time for change at Wigan, Wane has taken them as far as he can. It needs new direction on and off the field. Wane's comments to the press each week are embarrassing and do the team talk for the opposition.
score line tonight does not reflect the massive amount of possession and territory Leeds had. they were frankly poor as well.
Be lucky to make the super 8's without a severe turn around. Cant see where the next win is coming from.

| I wouldn't say "Wane out" but this is no doubt his most testing time in his Wigan coaching career so far.
Extremely poor pre-season, whatever they do in Florida clearly doesn't work (we're notoriously slow starters every season) so bin it off.
A very easy team to beat from what I've seen, only a team having a shocker would struggle.

| Thought Williams was one of the few standout players tonight. His kicking game is better than Smith's, he got some great territory in the first half, plus put in that great kick for the try on the cusp of half time.
Manfredi was another. Not perfect but at least he has better positional sense than Charnley and defensively he took on Hall with confidence. In attack he was hungry and his kick returns were promising.
Bowen is stealing a living. He'd rather give a hospital pass than take a tackle. If he's forced to take it in he goes for a voluntary tackle, but even that goes wrong.
Budgie has some great raw talent but raw is the operative word. He is lacking maturity which, when he gains it, will make him a try scoring machine. At present though he is a one man knock-on-a-thon. So many missed chances.
As a whole though we are lacking discipline and leadership. Not just the penalties, we had moments where we looked utterly clueless, literally looking confused as the ball landed in hand and panicking to get rid. Embarrassing. The penalties are what killed us though.

| Wane is definitely a man under pressure now, injuries haven't helped him and the least said about IL and recruitment or lack of it the better. We have regressed from MM's tenure at the club, they need to baton down the hatches now and work hard to get out of this situation, otherwise a change of coach and ideology is required. It's no coincidence MM is having great success at Souths now post Wigan achievement whilst we are struggling under Wane.

If it's a testing time then Wane is flunking it.
Time to look to the NRL again and bring in an assistant who is ready to make the step up.

| One thing that is worrying is that the last two SW half time 'team-talks' have seen us go on to score ONE measley point.

| On average we are scoring just above 5 points in 2nd halves this season.
Abysmal.

| I think it's slightly unfair to be critical of Williams. He looks exactly what he is at the moment which is a young, inexperience half with potential, I thought he did some good things but also made some poor decisions, and got caught with the ball too often, however the fact that Bowen never seems seems to make himself available as an option round the back makes it easier for the defense to pick Williams up.
Most worryingly for Wigan IMO is the performances of the more experienced players. Smith, Farrell, and Tomkins were shocking tonight, and MM was also poor, I thought Wigan looked a lot better with Logan Tomkins at hooker and Tautai was one of only a couple of forwards whom caused problems.

I don't know what they did in Florida but the pre-season games were a shambles. No rhyme nor reason to the selections. Smith and Williams should have played every game together and for 80 minutes and that last game v Workington was useless

Sadly it doesn't seem to work that way.
The only time players seem to go back to Aus is when they are playing well

"The best team won - they out-muscled us and controlled the ruck - but we gave too many penalties away.
"It's a tough place to come when you get a fair share of the ball but even tougher when you give away 11 penalties and not get the ball from two restarts.
"We looked a real threat when we controlled the ball. The boys know what they are doing wrong, we've just not got the composure to fix it on the field." '"
