Personally thought that Powell would have been given the number 6 shirt.

Good to see Flower has been given number 10.

Wigan Warriors have today revealed their squad numbers for the 2015 Season.

Academy products Joe Burgess, George Williams and Dom Crosby are rewarded for fine seasons in 2014 with the number 5, 6 and 8 shirts respectively.

New signings Taulima Tautai and Larne Patrick take up the number 24 and 25 shirts, while Lee Mossop will wear 23.

Elsewhere Dan Sarginson moves to number 4 following an impressive first season with the Warriors, while Anthony Gelling takes the number 3 shirt vacated by Darrell Goulding.

Wigan Warriors loyal fans will retain squad number 18 in recognition of the role they play supporting the team.

Warriors Director Kris Radlinski said,

"Squad numbers are always exciting to see from a fans point of view as it is a sign that the new season is getting closer.

"We base the numbers on performance from the previous year together with the potential the Coaching Staff see in individuals.

"As always squad numbers do not guarantee places in Shaun's side and all the players know they have to continue to work hard and perform both in pre-season and throughout the year to make the team"

The Club are still hopeful of having the 2015 replica shirts ready before sale before the original launch date of 19th December. To follow their progress to Wigan follow #WWItalianJob on Twitter

Surprised but happy to see Williams given the 6 shirt. It should be a real shot in the arm for him and I'd imagine he will get first crack at nailing the position down.

Dudson seems a bit high in the list if he is leaving but then Hansen was given 11 last year.

Is that a surprise to anyone? He established himself as our first choice centre over the course of last season and capped it off with an outstanding performance for England. The talking points are surely Williams at 6 ahead of Powell and Crosby at 8 ahead of Clubb. Plus Dudson still being here, thought he would be gone

When the 1st 26 players in your squad are all experienced 1st teamers (bar maybe Hampshire) you know you're doing pretty well.

Glad to see John Bateman at number 14 good replacement for Lockers when injured, can cover centre as well as second row.

George Williams seems to be the big winner. It looks like he'll start the season ahead of Powell and Hampshire. I think this is a good move. Williams seems to compliment Matty better, being a dangerous runner, rather like Green did. Powell is a bit too much like Matty (IMO) to forge a lasting partnership.

I think we all expect to see Hampshire in the team quite a bit at full back.

The one big surprise for me was the inclusion of Rhodri Lloyd. I thought he'd left!!!

I do not think we will see him again, this is from a very good source at Leigh.

Games as big as Grand Finals define individuals and clubs. Remember, we only rent these journeys. In my time I had Pat Richard's shirt. Ellery Hanley had Sean O'Loughlin's jersey. Sam Tomkins is wearing Radders' number one jersey. Andy Coley is wearing Shaun Wayne's jersey. You have to make a mark in these shirts before you hand it down to someone else. Hand it back. So be aware for 80 minutes that you are not only playing, but you are also writing history and creating legacy. How many people actually write history - not many? A big stage demands big players…..INSPIRE YOUR TEAM MATES. Martin Offiah MBE, pre-Grand Final Speech, 2nd October 2010.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_33718.jpg

Why wouldn't Flower be given a number?

As for the squad overall, it does look very strong. There is a lot of experience as well as the talented youth really being given a first team run out this year.
Williams at 6 is the stand out selection and I think he's got the shirt due to his pace. Hampshire will be playing at full back quite a lot I feel in 2015 as a run in for him getting the 1 shirt next year.

Every part of the squad has pace together with size, skill, aggression and game knowledge.
We've quite a formidable outfit in 2015 and I can see them competeing for silverware throughout.
