We have a good squad of decent pros, not much in the way of world class though. For me, a constant problem for us this season is we are weak at prop and centre.
The problem is, world class is hard to come by. I can't think of too many super league players who could improve us in these departments.

Perhaps because these players simply aren't available. British rugby league has 1 world class prop, and his name is James Graham. We have no world class centres. There are currently no world class centres plying their trade in superleague, nor are there any world class props. All the best players go to the NRL, bar a couple such as Lockers. Simply put, if the players aren't available, we can't sign or play them.

We're not going to be able to attract a Greg Inglis or Jamie Lyon, a James Graham or Sam Burgess so we'll have to make the best with what we've got. We've got a young squad who are only going to get better. Factor in young players already played this year; Rocky, Manfredi, Williams, Sutton etc. Include ones due for a game in 2015; Doran, Gildart, Forsyth and we have a production line of good solid British talent.

Will these players be world class? It's hard to say so early in their careers, but as long as they stay fit and work hard we've a solid spine to take us forward.

Remember, we ran Saints close playing with 12 men and getting no joy from the 50/50 calls from BENTham. If the bookies were laying odds now I'd put money on Wigan doing the double next year.

Yes it was good, to go in at 6-2 up at hlf time was outstanding.
We lost by 2 trys to 1 after playing 77 mins with 12.
World class players are no longer in the game.
Some that we used to have were former Union players and that door closed 20 years ago.
We then had Aussies who were world class and that door is now closed.
Both those sources closed due to our lack of our competition financially.
This Wigan squad is one of the best equipped in SL.
Our forwards can match anyones.
Half backs are changing again but the talent coming through is exceptional, better than any other SL club.
The backs are lightning fast and will be even faster next year with either Williams or/and Hampshire getting a start each game probably.
I like to think we're good for those reasons.

Plus we have one of the youngest squad in Super League. If not they youngest and some of the players will get a lot better. Crosby has been great the last 2 months and Gelling developing as he has is a massive bonus. Just hope we do bring in 1 or 2 more players of quality for next season. But looking ahead of that we have a group of young players that will not come into prime for another 2-3 years and yet we narrowly lost a GF with 12 men.

How ever crap we feel the future for us is very good.

There's a lack of real quality players in rugby league at the moment but what you do have is some teams where there is a real will to play for each other and Wigan are the best for that, you can't fault Shaun Wane and Sean O'Loughlin for the leadership they provide and the team they have built.

They went toe to toe with Saints for 77 minutes with 12 men in the biggest stage of all, yes it hurts to get beat but again you can't fault the effort or how they reacted.

OK there's no one with the ability of Hanley, Offiah or Gregory in this team but I think there's a fair few that have got the character of Edwards or Bell.
