| One word summed up that performance for me - predictable
Predictable Wigan attack - our attack is far too choreographed and the opposition have got to grips with it now. If its going to work now that teams know what to expect, the handling has to be super slick. On nights when it isn't like tonight, where's our plan B?
Predictable ineffective Jordan James performance - dreadful. Just dreadful. There is no reason for him to be in our 17.
Predictable poor performance at home against the top sides - I don't think we've won against Leeds, Saints or Warrington at home for 3 years.
Predictable lack of g-forward from our props - there is a clear need for more size which thankfully we've started to address with our recent recruitment. Taylor seems to have his head elsewhere already, Dudson goes down in the tackle like a floppy sock and bar the odd good run, Flower is still finding his way again after injury for me.
Predictable lack of X factor on the fringes - Hughes' handling is atrocious, Bateman clearly wasn't fit whilst Sarginson and Gelling are strong and willing runners but don't have the skill required to get near putting their winger away.
The one thing that wasn't predictable was which Saints team would turn up. Unfortunately it was the good one and they were simply better than us tonight.

| Classic overreaction. And we have won 3 home games against the teams quoted in the last 2 and a half seasons.

Regular season games I meant. And I respectfully disagree. I don't think everything's doom and gloom by any means but I do think there are some clear limitations in our side that have been evident for a while.

| Week by week, month by month our once organised structure in defence and attack..is slowly slipping away..

Fine, we have a poor overall home record against the top sides in recent years. Disagree with that?

| Wasn't our structure. We played 1 up rugby and were out muscled and out enthused. Add that to sarginson being a turnstyle in defence and it was never going to end well

Agreed. Unfortunately the current structure means that these home defeats don't mean a lot other than 7 day bragging rights and a good old sing song for the away fans.

| I think it's predicable what Wigan will do with that move out wide but it works. You had us all over the place on our left. Every time you did that move you do every single set, every single game it troubled us.
The whole of super league knows what your going to do but not many stop it. It's been so effective for Wigan over past few seasons that it's won you few trophies.
Maybe lack of a plan B when this move doesn't work could be the problem?

Can you maybe think of any other reason why poor home performances against the big teams hurt the club?

| Sarginson was very poor but he would not have even been defending if we hadn't given a mind numbingly stupid penalty away. The lifting one was brain dead idiocy from those involved. Turn a player upside down and you can put him the deck as gently as if you are putting a baby to bed and you are still inviting the ref to give a penalty.

| Or........... Saints came here with a better game plan and executed it well. Wilkin and Wellens were superb.
Don't be so bitter, They deserved it, we didn't do much wrong. Saints just wanted it more on the day and got the breaks they needed to score. If every game was perfect they would all end 0-0.
Congratulations to them but as we all know as fans of the top clubs, It's a marathon not a sprint. Peaking too soon in this competition and winning all the time usually means an early exit in the play off's. I think it's very finely poised for all the clubs and promises to be the most unpredictable finish in the history of Super League.
