Got the sense from his interview at the end tonight that he knows he's out for a pretty length period. Huge blow. Thought he's been playing superbly recently.
Personally hope we give Hampshire an extended run there. The obvious choice is perhaps Powell, but I think he's a very similar player to Smith, whereas Hampshire is more like agreen with his ability to take the line on. Give him a chance I say, but I fear he'll go for Powell.

Hampshire at 6 Sarge at 1 (if Bowen injured) could be an interesting thing for Wane to see IMO.

Powell will get the 6 shirt for the next few weeks I reckon.

Morley ruptured a bicep for us and wasn't seen for months on end.

I was just going to say if he's ruptured his bicep that's months of a job isn't it in some cases? Huge blow as he was outstanding last night.

In terms of where we go I think Wane will probably go with Powell but I'd give Hampshire a trot there. There is also Williams who Wane may fancy giving a run though with Powell back Micky Mac up.

Staggering options really.

Feel for him, he looked pretty glum last night.
Have faith in this squad though.

4 Months at least for a ruptured biceps. If it's torn completely off the bone, it could be 6-9. That could very well be his last game in a Wigan shirt icon_sad.gif

Heard 'if' it was only a slight year he could be back in a month and that looks best case at the moment.

Fingers crossed for him and us.

Lets's hope so. He's a key part to our silverwear aspirations this season!

I reckon he hooked Gelling for his poor attempt on Moon for the Hall try.

We've got great cover in Powell, Hampshire and Williams. Just hope this doesn't mean green has played his last game for us.

Also just to add I think the sky commentary was disgraceful saying he was faking the injury to waste time. He was clearly in pain.

Big loss if true, but it does open it up for Williams, Powell and Hampshire.

Out of the available options, I think Powell is most likely to replace him at 6. He certainly deserves his chance there and I look forward to seeing how he plays.

I do think it removes an attacking threat from the halves though and that might cost us a bit. Powell is more like Smith in my opinion, he'll take the line on very rarely. He doesn't have the pace to slice through defences.

In terms of a like for like replacement I'd say Williams is the closest. He's an excellent runner, has pace, an eye for a gap, a good offload when tacklers get their hands on him and also a good passing game too. I think he plays better on the left hand side too.

Hampshire is an option, but he still seems a little small to be defending in the line and he could be exposed. I also think he plays his best rugby on the right hand side.

Of course we also have Sarginson who was a stand off as a junior and got good reviews playing stand off alongside Sam Powell for England Knights when they beat Samoa last year.

Matty Bowen has also covered in the halves a few times. We've got plenty options as it stands.
