Hi. Thanks for posting this Bilko.
Last year, 505 riders got together to support Joining Jack and raised over £100,000 for research into Duchenne. Kris Radlinski, Paul Sculthorpe, Paul Deacon, Andy Coley, Brian Carney, Paul Atcheson Steve Hampson, Steve Hall were amongst our riders as was Sky TV's Angela Powers. TV presenter Helen Skelton was another of our riders!
Andy Johnson and his wife Alex both completed the ride and we're overwhelmed by the support from everyone. This is a ride that almost anybody can complete and is not just for experienced cyclists. Alex completed the 100km course with no training last year!
We are now trying to recruit 1000 people to complete either 100 miles or 100km on the Manchester 100 bike ride and for each rider to try to raise £100. Paul Sculthorpe, Steve Hampson, Angela Powers and Helen Skelton have already confirmed their place on the ride and we anticipate many more rugby related celebs to join us.

If I could afford to buy a bike I would seriously be looking into it. Will perhaps target it next year though if its being done then. |

Did it last year and had a great time. Chatted with Hampo Carney and Scully, sadly can't do it this year as it clashes with National 10 mile time trial which I should qualify for. All the best to hose that ride, it really is flat s a pancake.

i was one of the 505 riders last year. it was a great event and we raised lots for the charity! i can't do it this year due to time constraints with uni work but will be doing it in the future again

If someone has a tandem I will put my name forward to be the back seat driver, I will be 74 then and my eyes may not be up to doing the driving.
If it was to happen I would put £100 quid up for the sponsorship, I am not joking here , in fact if I could get my mother who will be 103 by then to do the driving I will double it.
This may sound a bit to frivolous but the same type of situation has happened in our family, my mothers first great, great grandson ( she already has 5 lovely great, great grand daughters ) has been born with a very rare brain condition and the parents still do not know what the outcome will be.
That is why charities like these for the very rare cases have to be supported at all costs. |

I did it last year and am signed up again this year. A really good ride and genuinely not too tasking, well at least the 100km wasn't. I'm going for the 100 miles this time.

I did the 100 mile last year and its pan flat mate youll be fine especially when you get to styal around 90 mile mark !!!!   |

I have now had confirmation that Brian Carney will be taking part in the ride again. Last year he did it on a borrowed bike which was 30 years old and turned up with a kipper in his pocket for nutrition!
Great fella and really big supporter of Joining Jack.
