| Thought McIlorum was outstanding today, and the only Wigan player who out played his opposite number.
His aggression and fearlessness didn't go unnoticed by the commentary team.
Hope we can keep hold of the best hooker in the world.

| Not sure about outplayed his opposite number?
Didn't Roosters number 9 win MOM?

| McIllorum and O'loughlin were both our best players. If the Wigan forwards had managed to get on top McIllorum would of stood out in attack but sadly most of his work was defending which he did a great job and stood out. Put Friend in the Wigan team today and he wouldn't of been anywhere near MOM.

| 2 forwards passes out of dummy half is not outstanding. His distribution is the weakest part of his game by far which isn't good for a hooker.

Agree with this, we really needed to get a foothold in the game early on and a few daft errors meant we couldn't do so, including the 2 silly short forward passes from dummy half by McIlorum. He was outstanding afterwards, but I think the occassion got to a few of our players in the opening stages, and frankly it was game over after 25 minutes.
We're really struggling to make metres out of our own half, and the long kicking game from Green and Smith isn't up to scratch. We were starting the majority of our sets in our own 20, making less than 30m then finding Minichello on the full, so Sydney were starting their sets at least 30m further up the field than we were.
I'm pretty disappointed tbh, I don't think we gave a good account of ourselves and we only really played well for 10-15 minutes in the 2nd half, then any momentum we had built with the 3 quick tries was soon nullified by Dudson with the loose carry in to the first collision, followed by the Roosters quickly scoring to make it a 16 point deficit. After the defeat by St George in 2011 I was happy that we'd given our all and were beaten by a better team on the day, today it just feels like we made it very easy for a world-class team to beat us.

| Solid but sometimes gets too carried away with the hard stuff, thought at times today he could have run from DH a bit more - just after half time Lockers was jumping into DH and running a few steps then passing and it got the opposition on the back foot. McIlorum could do that a bit more - the best hookers offer that bit more attack.

Matter of opinion but I wouldn't swap MM for any other hooker in SL. He's excellent in his position and can still improve. That's a great position for a player to be in and he's still young. Won't be long till the NRL come knocking!

Of course it is, and im not saying i dont rate MM, he is certainly one of the best in SL.I was just amused by the comment of best in the World which surely even the most Blinkered Wigan fan realises he isnt even close.Cameron Smith is a million miles ahead of anyone, and that is without starting the debate about where MM ranks amongst the best of the rest.

| Flower and Farrell were the pick of the forwards with Lockers not far behind.

| I loved watching McIlorum hammering away at Warea-Hargreaves in the second half. He really will go at anybody and have a dig which makes me smile even more when I think that I've actually seen people on the Saints forum call him a coward.
He's one of the toughest players in world rugby league.
