Wires were supposed to be merging with Widnes. little fuss was made in all honesty. Me and my mates had discussed the possibility and decided if we became "Cheshire" we would more than likely not watch them and would do something else with our time.
A lot seems to have been made of it since then and in pieces you read now, apparently we were "hours away from merging"! but I don't remember it like that, and certainly it seemed nothing more than a graphic on sky sports and some ramblings by eddie and stevo and blokes in the pub saying they wouldnt watch a "cheshire" team.
I dont recall Thousands marching anywhere....!!!
