The BBC made an exception to this years sports personality's team of the year award and made "Wigan town" the team of the year. The double, the FA cup...Who is more deserving?

Well they made an exception last year to give it Team GB when their own rules explicitly state that Team GB were not able to win the award.

| Don't forget that Wigan R.L. won the BBC 1996 Team of the Year, for winning in 1995/1996 every major R.L. Tournaments. All of those cups are in Wigan's Display Cupboard, because they were, with the exception of the Challenge Cup, never played for again.  |
