| Not much on the box tonight so thought I'd just have a little number crunching session. Last season Wigan had a total home attendance of 208k giving an average of 16,043, which was 1% down on the previous season. 2013 figures are total home gates 189084 giving an average of 14,545, down roughly 9.35%
Wondered why we had not had urgings from the club to break attendance records

| I'm sure we'll see them all on Saturday.
At least they can't use the Thursday excuse for not getting a season ticket next year. No doubt the "can't afford it" one will come back out though.

We have just been through/still in the worse recession this country have ever known, and some people, like me, have had to tighten their belts. Please realize that when these figures are banded about that some people GENUINELY can't afford to go, much as they would like too. If you want to talk attendances, try looking at some on the "Bottom feeders" in SL and have a pop at them.
Rant over.

| Well, with a Challenge Cup success, a Grand Final in the offing, and roughly £1 million in the coffers from the sale of players, maybe the club could look to reducing ST's by £30 per adult for this coming season?

| I believe it's mainly down to people realising that the regular season means absolutely nothing

| Apart from all the obvious benefits of being at the match I can think of one added bonus- you don't have to listen to the Sky commentary -like the people are moaning about on the other thread.

I'm not getting a season ticket, I don't see why I need to make an excuse either.

Spot on. The regular season just doesn't matter. Once it was obvious that were in the top 4 it didn't matter if we won or lost. I walked away from saints after losing and wasn't even particularly bothered. 5 years ago I would've had monk on all week. The format needs to change to make finishing higher more worthwhile. If we'd finished in the bottom half of the 8 I'd still have fancied our chances

| i stopped getting a season ticket this season and i have to say ive no regrets, just 4 home games i went to, away games are great but going to the DW is dire and more often than not were not being entertained in games like Castleford, wakefield, bradford, widnes, london, salford etc etc so i wont be buying a ST to watch half hearted performances against crap!
and throw into the bargain that im not rich so il pick and choose my games thanks
hope thats ok with you WIGG'N

I agree about the number of relatively meaningles games, and hopefully whatever the RFL come up with for the new structure will go some way to address that, but as I see it the main thing should be to make the LLS an important trophy again, at least equal in prestige and prize money/trophy to the othe two.

This is what's wrong with Rugby League. We're underpaying as it is for the entertainment we watch, so the only solution is to pay even less.

Yeah, or maybe some kind of ST deal which includes home playoff games... bit of a gamble for the fan but surely the club could make it a worthwhile gamble..? no?

THIS!
I got half season tickets this season for me and the Mrs having not had a S/T for three years (due to a three year commitment I had on certain Friday nights if that's ok?). From the games we went to we lost four because, ultimately, it didn't matter. I'm not sure why a financial & time commitment needs to be made by fans for matches that don't matter.
This isn't the club's fault, this is the the fault of the system but when there are matches being played with no consequences to the result you can't blame people for not turning up. When you get a big game, against good opposition, with a good following and a real consequence to the result like we had on Friday (14k more than that surely) then people will come.

| I have been a st holder since the stadium wax built and at CP before that. I am not renewing , because of all the dead rubber games against clubs that are simply not good enough for the top tier. I want to attend games where I have no clue who is going to win I.e wire,Leeds ,saints etc, not the blowout games.
I will re asses in 2015, when we know what the system is and how it works, and I also think that all clubs must spend the full cap to ensure they can at very least put out a competitive team.
