| It would appear that Wigan will receive somewhere between £500K and £800K (depending on which newspaper you read) from the sale of Hock and Tomkins.
How do they use it.
A cryogenic chamber to help speed up injury recovery?
More scouting / development staff?
More technology / video analysis?
Transfer fees for other players?
More investment into Central Park / Wigan t.v. type projects?
More investment in South Wales?
etc etc etc.

| If we don't sign Thurston, Cronk, the Burgess brothers, Cameron Smith and Greg Inglis then I won't be renewing my season ticket.

I'd put them in the following order:
1. Transfer fees for other players
2. A cryogenic chamber to help speed up injury recovery
3. More scouting / development staff?
4. More investment in South Wales
5. More technology / video analysis
6. More investment into Central Park / Wigan t.v. type projects

| I obviously expect some of it to go into things that aren't immediately visible such as central park, scouting staff etc but it would be good if they could throw a bit of it at getting a good left centre. I appreciate that they aren't exactly growing on trees but I think that's the position that we're really short in at the moment.

cryogenic chamber as it will bring in revenue to cover the cost of it long term and some of are players this years could of done with it.
new performance analysis technology, or one of those recovery treadmills in water (because they look fun).

| Transfer fees are obviously becoming more and more important in RL, and although we have cash in the bank from the sale of Sam, who should we be looking at spending it on (realistically)?

I agree it seems harder to sign a player with out paying a transfer fee these days but usually they are minuscule.

| Buy one of the many empty pubs/clubs about the town for a proper supporters club away from the corporate hell of DW.

| Even those fans who totally trust IL will want to see a couple of signings, and rightly so.
No-one could realistically expect the likes of Inglis or Slater, but there are holes in the squad that now need filling, and the fans will be justifiably miffed if more Bowen-type signatures (i.e. accomplished, high-level players, not journeymen) aren't acquired.
Of course, those guys aren't available at the drop of a hat, so people may need to be patient. No doubt any failure to wave a magic wand and make it happen straight away will only fuel the conspiracy theorists suspicions that IL is actually using the cash to build himself a new swimming pool, but in the real world I think we can afford to cast our eye over the markets with enthusiasm.
I agree with Pemps that we seem increasingly weak at centre. Now that we have buckets of money to strengthen, and masses of salary cap space to play with, it could be felt that the likes of Thornley and/or Gelling aren't the long-term answer.

A cryogenic chamber to help speed up injury recovery? - Should be there already
More scouting / development staff?- We should have enough already
More technology / video analysis?- Should be there already
Transfer fees for other players? - Yes, obviously. Ultimately results on the pitch are all that matters.
More investment into Central Park / Wigan t.v. type projects? - Is this a serious question?
More investment in South Wales? Nope
etc etc etc.'"
We are at least 1 or 2 star quality players short. It's a no brainer.

| The problem is with transfer fees who would you sign?
Realistically?
Only name that stands out to me would be Ben Crookes and or Lineham, to fill the centre/wing void, and I think to call that realistic is a stretch.
We then look to the NRL to improve is where the clubs are swimming with cash and even if they accepted a transfer fee the players wages are vastly inflated so you get less bang for your buck.
Blake Ferguson would be a great signing but would he get a visa? No transfer fee needed, but he would be a stop gap whilst the heat died down in Australia.
Its a tough one, but some investment MUST go into the infrastructure, be it coaching or otherwise.
