| Hello
Just a thought really. Last time I went on train it was an awful experience. Overcrowded, long waits etc etc
Why not get a train to Wigan and book on one of the coaches leaving. Mayfair travel are always good or see if you have a local coach firm doing a trip.
No hassle, direct to ground and there are a few pubs locally for a beer first.

| Manchester Victoria then a tram at Victoria to Old Trafford, there's no train station near the ground really, only a tram system... which will be packed going there and back, so good luck!

| A couple of years ago, I got the tram from Piccadilly to the Lowry Centre Outlet place. It wasn't too busy, was easy to get food and it's only a few minutes from the ground across the bridge. On the way back I headed back over that way again and got on the first tram with no queue easily.

| If you are coming from B/Pool then there are 3 trains an hour to Piccadilly and then Tram or Taxi to the ground.
There only a couple of Pubs around O/T and they are not that great. This year (if we get there) I will be finding a decent Pub in City Centre Manchester (which there are plenty) and either getting the tram or jumping a Taxi. Its only 2 or 3 miles from the Centre of Manchester so shouldn't be more than a fiver or so.
Last year some friends of mine walked from Manny to O/T and they said it took 30 minutes and was good fun because there were a lot of fans doing the same and there was plenty of banter. But if your Dad has any mobility problems then Tram or Taxi.

This is a good option

Cheers all. Anyone else here going no matter who gets to OT?

| a lot of people assume the only tram option is the Altrincham line & thus the Eccles line is often not as rammed (get off at Exchange Quay) - if you're on the tram, try to get on as near to Piccadilly as poss - anything past St Peter's Square & you'll be riding on the roof

| For people who complain about how pack trams get at old Trafford you're better off walking to Trafford bar instead and getting a tram from there that comes on the St Werburghs line as this bypasses old Trafford and doesn't get as packed you can do the same on way to ground as well

33718_1325770967.jpg Games as big as Grand Finals define individuals and clubs. Remember, we only rent these journeys. In my time I had Pat Richard's shirt. Ellery Hanley had Sean O'Loughlin's jersey. Sam Tomkins is wearing Radders' number one jersey. Andy Coley is wearing Shaun Wayne's jersey. You have to make a mark in these shirts before you hand it down to someone else. Hand it back. So be aware for 80 minutes that you are not only playing, but you are also writing history and creating legacy. How many people actually write history - not many? A big stage demands big players…..INSPIRE YOUR TEAM MATES.

That line now goes to East Didsbury as its' final stop. Going the other way, it's Rochdale, although it doesn't go into Piccadilly, but does stop at Victoria.
You will need to change at Market Street for Piccadilly, or, as an alternative, walk the 5-10 minutes or so.

Quite the opposite, I won't be going even if we get there. I just don't like it, the corporate is crap (done it 3 or 4 times now) and the evening KO gives too many idiots the chance to get ed, resulting in much unsavouriness. I hope you have a great time though!
