Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png |

| Full team next week preferably. Can't just expect to stick them all back on the field at wembley and expect things to click. Need to get back into the swing of things. Play a full team then if we get the game won early on maybe take the likes of Tomkins, lockers, Micky mac off in the second half.

I have read this a few times in the last few days that we are guaranteed a place in the top 4 play offs.
Leeds are only 2 points behind Wigan, so with the form Wigan are showing at present and looking at the remaining fixtures left, Leeds can easily finish in front of Wigan in 4th.
How ironic that would be, Wigan having to win it from 5th.

That's true and all. But, we're six points ahead of Saints in 5th. With 3 games to go, and a vastly superior points difference. I think we're safe with 4th.
Edit: 8 Points clear of saints with 3 games to go. So short of a points deduction we ARE guaranteed 4th.

| I was all up for resting all the senior players and playing a squad something similar to what the OP has put, until that debarcle last night. But now the first choice, full strength 17 really needs 80 minutes before Wembley. We've got to get the combinations working again and the fluid attack from 3 months ago back.
It's not the longest trip in the world and still gives 5 days of preparation before the final. I'd be very tempted to go with 4 forwards off the bench as bringing L Tomkins on for McIlorum offers nothing except a drop in intesity and I don't like changing the halfbacks mid-way through the game (though if Green plays like that again I'd happily see him brought off for Hampshire).

| The only time we've played a full strength team in the last 2 months is against London, and we looked crisp, fluid and dangerous. This shows me that if we put out a full strength side against Hull we should be at our best.

| Wigan's pathway to Wembley replicates what the Rhino's had to contend with last season, That being an away game at Catalans
For the record the Rhinos took their strongest side to France the week before and lost 38-34
and then lost 18-35 at Wembley against Warrington
But then never lost another game all season
The Rhinos squads that went to Catalans/Wembley and then won the GF probably had at least 14 players that appeared in all of these 3 games
IMO Wigan should do the same and send their first choice Wembley squad to France next weekend and use it as a team bonding exercise for Wembley and then for the play-off series

| I am in 2 minds on this, save only that the only test to apply is what approach leaves us best placed to win at Wembley? I don't care what team we field, as we have achieved all we need and want to in the league. Indeed, I'd go further and say that I would prefer us to finish 4th and play the Giants away rather than Wire away.
I would leave the decision solely to the fitness experts. If people need to play to get "match fit", so be it. If they don't need to, and people judge that the travel will take its toll then play the A team. Given the likely outbreak of Wembleyitis, we'd lose with a full team anyway.

Edit
Apologies to all concerned, I was on my third pint of mild tonight when I realised (I was talking to a Leigh supporter at the time)that I had made a complete Horlicks (my next drink tonight)of my post regarding the top 4 situation.

Crisp, fluid and dangerous? You were playing London. Let's not get ahead of yourself. You missed Smith last night. Hampshire played well and will be fine at fullback.

Wolfie, agree with what you say about the statement being "crisp, fluid and dangerous" being a bit over the top against London, but Hampshire in my opinion will make a far better standoff than fullback.

| After an appalling team selection last night we simply have to play a full team now away at Catalans to try and build some combinations and confidence back up before Wembley. We should have done that last night, laid a marker down and put the lads feet up for a week sending Harris over to France with a young team but it's not to be.
All we can hope is Wane has played a master stroke and come the final the lad will be fresh as daisy's. Maybe the few days together in France will be a good dry run for a few days away in London and the players will have time to really get focussed. I guess we will find out in due course.
Catalans and Wembley team-
Tomkins
Charnley Goulding Gelling Richards
Green Smith
Flower McIlorum Taylor
Hansen Farrell Lockers
subs Mossop (lucky lad after last night) Crosby Tuson Hampshire.
