He seems an inspiration but I had to vote for George Herring. Having played briefly for St Pats and followed them for a few years he really is the heartbeat of the club. Without volunteers like George the St Pats club and others like it wouldn't keep producing so many top quality young prospects who turn into stars for the Wigan first team. All 3 are great examples of pride though

I voted for George too, if ever there was a bloke in RL who doesn't get the recognition he deserves, it's George. The guys epitomises the word clubman. Like you say, the heartbeat of one of Wigan's most important amateur clubs, who produced Tomkins, O'Loughlin, Farrell etc |
