Talk is cheap.
Weren't Salford going to sign Kyle Eastmond as well?
It's gimmickry, I'm afraid. It makes it look as if the new guy is going all out to sign the top names.
I seem to recall Alex Murphy adopting the same attitude when he was coach at Saints, and Dave Whelan when he was under fire as owner of Wigan. We were regularly only a couple of clicks away from signing two or three Aussie stars - and yet it never happened.

Eastmond has never ever been mentioned with Salford.
As for signing a big name, he's pretty serious, as he sees a big name as a catalyst to bringing in better calibre players all round. |
