| Bookies make him 4th favourite behind Vievers, Millward and Betts to be the next Super League coach to leave at odds of 8/1.
Personally I reckon that he will almost certainly see the season out, but his surprisingly low odds for the coach of last season's league leaders reflects a poor showing in the big games and a perceived weakening of the side for next season.

| Its weird, I would guess that when it comes to recruitment he has worked with IL to get more for the money they have and develop a young squad so I don't see why that would be a problem.
When it comes to the big games that would concern me but its only up to the coach to a certain extent, the players have to take some responsibility at the end of the day.
Its only my opinion but short of some major problem surfacing we havent seen yet I can't see him going.
I mean who would we replace him with for a start? There isn't many great coaches banging around and surely they must want some stability to stick with the young kids coming through.

what happens if this young squad doesn't gel and we're losing games and around 5/6th in the league? The masses of Wigan fans will be calling for his head make no mistake, IL tends to listen aswell I feel
(and please don't bang on about Leeds finishing 5th, if it was Wigan who played like Leeds did during the regular season in 2012, i'd be amazed if he would not have been fired)

| I personally think both Hull coaches are ahead of Wane on that list. Hull FC have spent big on their squad which instantly cranks up the expectations and pressure. KR need to improve.
IFL stood by Noble in spite of the dross that was being churned out and even renewed his contract. I do not think he is the firing type and expect Wane to be in a relative position of comfort in relation to job security.

| I think with Leeds winning it from 5th hs probably made it safer for coaches now. Unless Wigan find themselves in the bottom 4, getting completely turned over by Saints and out of the CC by the Magic weekend then Wanes job is secure and if all of the above happens then I think SW would walk away.

| Wane was one of the favourites in the "sack sace" last season whilst Royce Simmons was safe.

| Can't see Shaun Wane getting sacked as relegation doesn't exist for Wigan.
IL won't pay compensation to a sacked coach and then pay a salary to a new appointment. Just not his way of doing things.
Just my view but I thought IL extending Noble's contract was to buy him time whilst looking for the man he wanted. Which in the end is what happened.
Besides I think the team is good enough to compete at the top level.
SW has assembled a massive pack which has power, skill and pace.
His half backs are both new however Green has pace and skill whilst Smith can bring a decent kicking game which is something we have lacked for years.
Four of the five backs are as last year with the 4 shirt going to Hughes with Thornley getting a run at centre too. We've also quality back up in most positions as well.
Favourites for the sack have to be Millward, Cas's opening fixtures are a nightmare. I can only see them winning one out of the first six.
Betts will struggle and Anderson has taken over a losing team.
There will be a few before Shaun I'm sure!

What's that got to do with anything? You think he will stand as the champion of morals if your team under performs and your fickle fans are calling for his head - get real. Wane will go if your squad, as feared on here, doesn't perform this year or starts where you left off last year when he'd clearly lost the plot and showed all the signs of being out of his depth. Simmons was the same and was a silly appointment from the start by Saints.
PS: Who took the call not to extend Noble's contract - can't remember if it was IL or Diamond Dave?

It's way too early to be thinking of sacking management. This is just people making up pseudo-news to justify their existence on whichever daily-comic they're employed by.
But if you're really serious: Wane isn't on his own when it comes to bending the squad into shape - how about throwing some brown stuff at the supporting characters too: Harris has always been a suspect signing in my book.
