| Farrell, Ashton and Tomkins all playing that boring silly game at Wembley being shown on Sky Sports 2.
They must onoly be playing that sport for the money as it cant be for any other reason.
Boring, boring, boring.
All 3 should be at wigan in the first team squad.

| Sam Tomkins, Josh Charnley, Pat Richards > Chris Ashton, he just wouldn't get into our starting 17
We have Pat Richards who is great at goal kicking and can actually play attacking rugby so Owen Farrell wouldn't be much use
We have been a better side without Joel Tomkins purely because he can't play centre but he's the only one I'd have out of the 3 if he played in the second row, but even then I think Liam Farrell offers better value for money.

| to say we are better without Joel sounds like a bit of sour grapes, he is a quality league second row who would get into the 17 every week without question

We have played a lot better without Joel at centre, I did say I'd take him back in the second row but in the backs he was bellow par.

| Why the RFL don't point out in their marketing how generally RU can be I don't know. I actually like the game but at times I do compare the 2 and there's only one winner for entertainment purposes. The RFL need to grow some balls and start shouting about our game. (they need to stop being so bent as well but thats for another day)

| Joel was dreadful at centre but he's a fantastic back rower and would walk in to our side. He's big, athletic, aggressive and has good hands. He was a pretty complete package in that backrow when he had his head right!
Ashton wouldn't get a game here though and as for Farrell who knows! I've never seen him play a game of league(or union for that matter).

I was invited to Sale vs Saracens last week and watched all three of them play. Joel, at centre, seemed to be not up to speed with the game and was subbed after about 50 minutes. Farrell came on who looked more natural there. Ashton is quick and strong and IMO would be hard to leave out of any RL side. He scored a try very similar to Pat's yesterday where he just barged somebody out of the way to score in the corner.
What did get me is that the seats in the equivalent of the DW West Stand on the 40m line were £47 for an adult and £17 for kids. In front of me there was a family with 2 kids who must have splashed out £131 for their tickets. Season tickets in that section run to about £500. It kind of puts RL into perspective when I paid £23 for an equivalent seat to watch the playoffs.
Sale's main sponsors are MBNA (an American Bank) compared to Applicado FS (who had heard of them before this season?) and the league sponsors are Aviva compared to Eddie Fricking Stobart! Until the RFL can change the perception of RL and attract the type of investors and sponsors that are currently attracted to RU, then the game will never "evolve".
