| Just watched the game back on sky and didn't realise Bradley Wiggins was there until saw it on sky.
As he was there a) why did the club not have him on the pitch at some stage, but more importantly b) why didn't we take the MASSIVE opportunity to have him present the league leaders shield?
Surely this would have been massively simple? Why did we miss this one?
Very unlike wigan in their current set up...I'd have expected us to usually be all over something like this.

| Maybe he just didn't want the attention and wanted to attend as a fan, not a celebrity?

| Im sure ive read a quote from Wiggins stating how he hates celebrity culture, so im sure he wouldnt want to be paraded round the DW
Also he probably just wants to watch a rugby match with his son, im guessing he doesnt get to do that alot with his training and travelling

| We need to be a big enough sport not to need to be relying on the likes of Wiggins, Ferdinand, Rooney, Giggs doing the RL's promotional job for them.
Not criticising the guys mentioned, great that they enjoy RL.

| Perhaps he didn't want to be paraded on the pitch? Like previous posters have said, he isn't into the whole celebrity lifestyle and just wants to get on like a regular man, attending rugby games as a fan.

| I agree with the majority in that Bradley Wiggins doesn't like to be in the limelight. I went to the game on Friday and took two friends for who it was there first Wigan game. They knew Wiggins was a big Wigan fan and were hoping that he would make an appearance on the pitch and he would receive the recognition he deserved, after winning the Tour de France.
It is an amazing achievement and with Wiggins being a fan of RL surely he would want the game to grow even if it meant it was something he wasn't comfortable with. For the person who said we need to be a big enough sport not to rely on big personalities, that is absolute tosh! Its great pubilicity that these people are willing to put their time into watching our sport.

| What does Wiggins have to with rugby apart from being a fan? I'd much rather see Billy Boston presenting the trophy than Wiggins.

| My wonder was of why little Jack wasn't leading the team out? Or even bringing the matchball on.
Hoping the family was given the opportunity for him.
Understand jack gets tired easily so maybe his family merely appreciated all the work around the charity for the evening.

Agreed. It would be wrong of the club to exploit him and potentailly make him turn his back on watching the club because its too much hassle for him. Let him enjoy the game like any other fan.

Heard it when I watched it back and sat there waiting for him to correct himself. Was astonished when he didn't and that no one else on the commentary team corrected him.
