Was there some reason why Bradley Wiggins appearance was so low -key? I thought he would have deserved a a good welcome from the club and fans.
Especially as he always seems to mention the club every time he appears in the press.

I think he will be on the pitch at the Saints game.

Maybe he wants to enjoy an evening out of the spotlight?

He said in an interview when he won the his gold medal that "he hates the celebrity lifestyle" so I presume that was the reason.

I'm hoping it's because he's being introduced to the crowd at the Saints game. He's a legend and it would be great to get the opportunity to show him some appreciation.

Maybe he'll present the hubcap? The RFL decided to go for some Royal on a free jolly to present the challenge cup this Saturday when they had umpteen gold medalists to choose from including Wiggins who's a huge league fan.

I don't know about Wiggins, but if it were me presenting the CC on Saturday, I'd have to try very hard not to just shove it in the face of either Briers or Sinfield.

I'm hoping for this too! He would get an awesome reception from both sets of fans!

He is in the tour of Britain starting 9th of September so might not be at saints game.
