| Back in full time training last week, wonder when he will make his first appearance for the u20's.
2 or 3 games successfully in the 20's and he may be ready for the first team come the salford game.
It will be like having a new signing with big stu coming off the bench

| I hope I'm wrong but I can't see him being of much worth to us anymore. He was way past his best, then he's had 2 years out since. I'd sooner see us give game time to Crosby or Spencer if we needed to give one of the regulars a break

| Although it hasn't always worked out for him, he's never given less than 100% and I hope he gets back this season and, if not with us, gets a chance to earn a contract for next season.

| I think its amazing how people seem to be writing off his career without even giving him a chance. People are always stating how playing a lot of mins early in his career led to him burning out when he came to us, so surely this break will have eased that burden.
Were people the same about Hock after his ban? its a similar length of time to fieldens injuries, and yet I think Hock is playing better rugby than ever. Fielden has plenty of time left in him, at 32 he has a lot left to give, good props can play easily to 35/36. It is quite possible that he comes back and wins WCC #4 and #5 with Wigan.
By no means am I saying that it will happen, just that I would rather wait till at least the end of this season before making a judgement when taking into account lots of variables.
PS. lets not forget that before these injuries he had made his way back into the England team, and he had deserved the call up. and looking at the 2010 fans player of the season, he came 2nd behind Sam, and ahead of man of steel Pat. That was how well he was playing before the injury. rlhttps://wigan.rlfans.com/news.php?readmore

| Aslong as he is running hard, and not doing his usual "run, stop, fend off someone and get tackled" effort. I like Stu as a person, top pro and i would love nothing more than to see him return to the best performance i've EVER seen from a prop forward in his perfomance against Wests in the WCC 2006.

| According to Wish FM Louisa Kings Twitter Stu has suffered a set back in training and may not play this year. Looks like his wigan career maybe over. No way will he get a contract having not played for 2 years at age 33.

Could very well be the end of his Wigan career if thats true. Id like to see im kept on for next year with a possible coaching position after that

| Gutted if its true was looking forward to him coming back. Id love to see him in some kind of business / coaching role for Wigan, remeber watching a supermen with him in, seems a great bloke to have around younger players.
I cant help but feel if he does retire though he will go do something with Bulls, which as sad as it would be to see him go you can kinda understand from his point of view.

| Real shame if true.
He deserves some luck but it isn't happening for him. He seems determined to eventually make a comeback but it's even less likely to be with us now.

| Could well be career over, not just Wigan career over.
He's followed the same path as Paul Sculthorpe sadly.

| Very sad if true, I think he has genuinely tried to get right with a lot of help from the club, but it seems all for nowt. Would have loved to see him back. Can’t see anyone giving him a new contract now. Wish him better luck for the future.
