| For no other reason than nostalgia type 'state of origin 1995' into the well known site that cannot be mentioned on here to find a 15:49 minute video of the 1995 origin series.
I was lucky enough to attend all three games as I was working down under at the time. never realising that at least three of the players involved in that series would go on to represent Wigan and seventeen years later one of them is still playing in Super League! You can probably all guess who that is to be fair.
some truly skilful and hard players in that montage in a series overshadowed by the SL/ARL war going on at the time, a Watershed era for both continents.

| In reply to my own post, there were actually five players in that series who went on to play for Wigan not to mention the ones who played against us or the ones who I would love to have seen in a Wigan shirt, Gary Larson for one.

| One of the best series ever! Must have been sensational to have been at those games. What was it like watching the famous fight in game two?

I loved every minute. As did all the crowd although each game actually failed to sell out because of the politics and the ongoing super league / ARL war going on at the time. To be honest I was so drunk going into the second game that the fight is the last thing I actually remember.

| Adrian Lam was awesome, always remember him having a stormer in the origin games. I'd say he's also the best player I've seen for Wigan in my time watching. Proper half back who took games by the scruff of the neck.

Is the 'make yourself available for Aus' rule a new one then? Lam and Craig Smith both played Origin but neither made themselves available for Aus. If it is a new rule then I think it's pretty obvious that they've brought it in to kill off their International competition.

I don't know how old you are but the best I've seen are Hanley and Gregory. If Gregory had had the same work ethic and dedication as Edwards or Hanley he would have been the best in the world.

| Having seen Gregory and Edwards, I rated Lam superior to both them.
I thought he was an outstanding player.

| He was outstanding, he was a true competitor who Andy Farrell looked up to, figuratively speaking of course. If he wasnt injured in the 2003 semi final wigan would have won the grand final against the bulls.

Lam played for Papua New Guinea.

what i remember of that final, we were well and truly battered and deserved to lose. having lam wouldnt have made a difference. nobby used their huge team to great effect.
also fwiw lam didnt play in the semi win at leeds. his last game was the eliminator vs saints.
