[quote="headhunter":lnxdgxk2]Union people are idiots. They almost universally accept that league is a better, faster game played by better athletes, yet for some reason they continue to disregard and belittle it. That game is tedious as hell from start to finish. If he'd ever played or even bothered to give more than a fleeting chance to league he would realise that the game is far more 'technical' than Union ever could be. Booting the ball into touch, scrummaging and forming rucks and mauls aren't areas that involve any skill, technique or mental capacity whatsoever. These are clumsy, outdated facets of the game that are also extremely uninteresting to watch and thus have to be defended in some way by people who are too prejudiced to see the truth.[/quote:lnxdgxk2]: |

Cracking idea having a legends wigan v saints game- said about doing this for years, has massive potential IMO and can make a fair amount of money-but cant understand the thinking behind Wigan RU, which is surely only going to restrict the revenue for SOL?
This game at Orrell, along with a fans day, could surely sell Orrell out, and get a crowd of around 2.5k, whereas the capacity of Wigan RFU can only be what, approximately 500?
The only thinking I can see behind WRU is that its licenced, but surely even Orrell unlicensed would get a better crowd purely for capacity reasons. In addition surely it wouldnt be that hard to get an indidual events license for Orrell ?

| Wigan Union will hold 5000 I reckon. Orrell is restricted to 1200.

12437.jpg What's the touch line like down there mate? 'It's long, it's white, it's about a hundred metres long!'.

| Blimey, I'd heard there might be a bit of a legends game on that afternoon and was going to head up for a few scoops before heading down the lane. Didn't know it was a full on SOL13 event though.

Wouldn't like to see the "road" into the club with a 5000 attendance.

Exactly where?!!! How the hell does WRU hold 5k?
There's only one tiny stand that can hold probably a maximum of 100 people and then standing room round the pitch. Orrell has two touchline stands and one where you can stand behind the goal? I genuinely can't figure this out?!
