No doubt this will probably end up locked because those within the brigantees group wont be able to respond to general discussion but felt this needed raising.....

When I watch videos like this I cant help but think this is all going to end in nothing but trouble im afraid, and going to drag the good name of Wigan RLFC and rugby league through the mud!
I know most of the brigantees arguments on here usually end up being black and white depending whether those posting are in or out of the brigantees clique, but im actually not generally one of the brigantees bashers- I think there's certain things they've done which are very good such as the flags and improvements in atmosphere etc. however the element within the group which seem to think they are some sort of european football firm need to be stopped.
Im all for pre-match atmosphere and singing and banter with the opposition, but walking though an away teams town centre blocking the road with a silly banner, with scarves round their face, and singing about the town being s**t , and 'we'll do what we want'' etc. is just asking for trouble. At the very best its intimidating to any general members of the public and is not something I want our great club to be associated with - at worst, its got potential to start a mini riot/ mass brawl! They only need to run into a similar group from the opposition, or a few fans or general public who take exception and it will all kick off.
If afraid if this is repeated at warrington we'll end up seeing a town centre kick off because their idiots will respond badly to this.
Lets go, raise the atmosphere, sing in the ground, have a few beers and a good laugh from the oppostion but we need to remember this isnt football, and cut all this ultra's cr@p before it ends up doing some damage! |

Brigantes have done some good things and should be applauded for that. This is just asking for trouble though and some day soon they'll find it and won't be doing it again.

i hope this is just a minority of kn#b heads. and that those of the Brigantes who purport to condemn this behavior do so immediately, identify those that can be & bar them.
this blx brings us crashing down to the level of the average 1970s soccer club and should stamped on without favour or mercy.

In all honesty it's half expected from what appears to be a bunch of degenerate thugs in the video, not that shocking in society. However, what worries me or amuses me I can't decide, is the middle aged man going along with it with a bunch of teenagers.
I am not calling all Brigantes degenerate thugs there, just the ones in the video.

i cringed like mad watching that video, I expect that of Liverpool fans visiting Manchester for a game against Man Utd, not Wigan fans. It's sad to say that, whilst I absolutely love the Brigantes and what they do, we can't escape from the fact it will certainly attract this element of support, with scarves over their faces and intimidation, just a bit sad and pathetic really |

Im not actually.....just bashing moronic behaviour which, as the poster has stated above, brings us crashing down to the level of a 70s soccer club.
My post was actually a balanced look at the brigantees - The brigantees have done some excelent things regarding flags, matchday atmosphere etc as I raised in my post, however this sort of behaviour has no place in Rugby League IMO.
Had these been st Helens/ wire lads doing this in wigan we would have all been calling them D*cks and laying into them. IMO this sort of behaviour is intimidating and is asking for trouble - plus the fact they're just making wigan look like morons- you can hear the chaos they're causing behind them with all the cars and buses blowing their horns but carry on regardless, then singing, we'll do what we want!
The lads on this video are ale'd up idiots who should be allowed no affiliation with those people within the group who have gone to such efforts to do the good things for the club as I raised above.
It looks more like an EDL march than rugby fans going to a game, especially with the idiots who cover their faces with scarves!!
Dont know whether to laugh or cry at the patheticness of it but unfortunately it WILL end in trouble and it WILL drag our good name, and possibly the good name of Rugby League through the mud - This needs stoping now IMO. |

I think that's a little out of order. There is nothing in that video that could lead you to suggest that they are 'degenerate thugs'.
The problem is they appear to be acting a bit like daft football hooligans with scarves over their faces, shouting and swearing in public and appearing to block or slow traffic by walking in the middle of the road.
It's hardly a glowing endorsement of the club and it's fans, but I'd like to say the people in the video were acting like morons, they aren't acting like thugs. |

Think he has a valid point and your attitude to it is worse. Wouldn't want fans from my club doing this. I know it is a minority but the minority always spoil it for most and these issues need to be addressed not the sort of images you want to see at a RL GAME |
