39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

| That shows just how much impact Lima and Farrell gave us, while also showing how much we missed Mossop.

[quote="Saint77777":3t42372l]Maguire was a black mark on RL in this country. Whilst coaches like Daniel Anderson and Brian McLennan won championships on the back of exciting Rugby league, Maguire set out to win at all costs, evident by the way Danny Maguire was seriously injured and laughed at on the floor by the wigan players as he writhed in agony. Then there has been the constant bending back of limbs, trying to seriously maim the opposition. Even Phil Clarke has jumped on the bandwagon with his disgusting comments about the Danny Maguire incident.
I think its fitting that the 2 fairest teams in the comp, who have been on the receiving end of Wigans tactics should contest the Grand Final and make it a proper family day out instead of the knuckle dragging, salivating neanderthals from Wigan, that would pour into manchester on grand final day.
I for one cant wait to mingle with the Leeds fans and have a beer with them, rather than having to watch my arms and legs, should wigan have got there.[/quote:3t42372l]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_54062.gif |

| Nice work from Lima and Farrell. Errors need to be brought down, as do Penalties. Three errors from Leuluai? Had a shocker. Hopefully normal business will be resumed next week.

| Hock seems to have moved on from giving 2 errors and 2 penalties up each game to giving away 3 and 2. This might seem harsh but if he doesn't cut it out he should be dropped as he's becoming a liability despite his good work offensively, although the stats this week don't show that.

| How many minutes did Tuson play? Anyone know? If he didn't play long, his stats don't seem THAT bad.

| 240 meters more, 46 more PTB's, 13 more tackle busts, 10 offloads more and half as many missed tackles as Wire. We dominated that match as we all know. Yet safety first rugby and poor decisions at crucial times cost us. I really do hope Wane has learnt from this. It seems as though every scenario possible is being played out under Wane's stewardship this year and after everyone we all find ourselves saying "he'll learn from this".

12 minutes rings a bell with me.

Shaun Wane encourages his players to throw the ball around though. Look at how many offloads we made in comparison to Wire. You show no respect for the ball and you're bound to make errors.

| We look a completely different team under Shaun Wane than Mike Maguire. Look at the errors/penalties/missed tackle counts there - would we have seen that under Madge? Wane is encouraging his players to chuck the ball around/take risks whereas Madge stuck to the structures he put in place and played a more conservative game-plan. You show no respect for the ball and you make errors. You make errors you give your opponents chances to score. Shaun Wane sounds daft when he talks about 100% completion/no errors/penalties/perfect 80 minutes when he's encouraging his side to chuck it around the park/take more risks. You can't have both.
We lost that game because we failed to build pressure and invited Warrington back into the game. Madge's side rarely offloaded/forced passes/tried to play 'razzle-dazzle' RL. He realised that the less errors you make the less chance you give your opponents to score, the more you starve your opponents of possession and the more you tire the opposition out. We lacked composure last friday - for a second week in a row we chucked it around in our own half and had an intercept try! Every last tackle play on our opponents line we tried to score - why? Did it ever work? Did we force a goal-line drop out all game? Grubber kick into the corner, try to force a repeat set, build pressure - we did none of this.
Under Shaun Wane we've lost three games already. In the last three weeks we lost to the bottom club, conceded over 30 points to the bottom two clubs and snatched defeat from the jaws of victory at home against a side top of the league. That isn't good enough and we've taken a massive backwards step after Shaun Wane's brainfart against Widnes.
We only lost 9 league games in Madge's entire two-year tenure at the club. In just eight games in charge Wigan have already lost three matches under Wane...
I'm not calling for his head yet, but I'm definitely concerned at the way we're playing at the moment.

I know we play a more expansive game under Wane but Hock is leading the club in both penalties and errors and needs to improve his decision making before we can start to look at our style of play.

He's not the only one conceding penalties and making errors though, so it isn't down to one man to fix his issues before the whole team do the same thing. The team should be working hard to fix the problems so that even if Hock continues in the same manner there is an overall improvement, while obviously Hock needs to work on improving his own game as well.
