| Obviously now the title can only be won at Old Trafford but I've been tryin to think of which games won us the league from 1987 to 1996. I can think of some(and they might not be right!) but not all:
1987: Fev at home or was that just the match where we picked trophy up?
1990icon_confused.gif
1991: was it Leeds at Headingley? 6 games in 16 days or something ridiculous
1992icon_confused.gif
1993: Cas at home?? Think it was week after 8-8 with Saints - may have wrong year though.
1994: last game of season away? Oldham?? won on points difference, again may have wrong year
1995: Saints at home Good Friday, 30,000 on, Henry Paul scored from our drop out
1996icon_confused.gif?
just something to pass a few hours away recalling glories past!

There was a game against Widnes away where we clinched the title - early nineties, live on ITV with Clive Tyldesley. Bobbie Goulding kicked a penalty/conversion (not an easy one) to win the game with Tyldesley saying "What's Bobbie Goulding made of? Sugar and spice and all things nice". Cracking kick, curled it into the wind straight bteween the posts.
Re: 1996, we didn't win the league that year. London draw cost us the title. Stains won it on points difference (McRae's team).

| 1990 - After leaving us 2 years earlier for his 'big' move to Leeds, David Stephenson was playing for Leigh that day!

If memory serves, hadn't we lost to Saints the week before?
The league won, relegating the lobbygobblers in the process then a fortnight later down to Wembley to beat Wire in the Cup. Happy days indeed.

| I wanted to say Leeds at home for 1990 but not sure if i was getting it mixed up with year later. Totally can't remember anything from the Leigh game. Will have to search another website to see if there is a video of it.

Re
the last minute goulding kick was earlier in the season around february time i think. widnes had gone in front a minute from time after davies had converted a last minute offiah try from the touchline. i think the kick was actually a penalty against widnes almost from the restart. it wasnt a title clincher but was certainly a four pointer as widnes were a good side at the time having pipped us to the title the year before in the last game of the season.
