For those who enjoy the history of the game, Clare Balding has included Rugby's Great Split as an episode in her new series about sport and the British. If you know a bit about it already then it doesn't really tell you a great deal more, but beggars can't be choosers. Good series though, if you're interested in the history of sport. Here's a link...

| I listened to it the other day and found it mostly informative and well balanced. Nice to hear the contribution from Tony Collins, now Professor; one of the founder members of the RLSA. For me though, the salient bit that was missing was how Rugby League evolved away from Union for reasons of game flow and thus entertainment. And how Union is stuck in the past because it can't modernise or that would vindicate what Rugby League had done all along.
Nice piece though and well worth a listen.
