Hull KR have launched a £35 per year subscription service showing full matches midweek of games played earlier in the week, plus archive matches (classic games), player interviews, press conferences...etc.
Is this the way forward? It's much cheaper than launching a digital TV channel for a start.

I think it's a great idea, imagine full games to watch midweek, U20's/U18's games, player interviews, recorded fans forum highlights. Could be a real money spinner.
So, would you pay?

| I hate watching stuff on the computer so probably not. Depends how much effort was put into it (commentary or such like) but last year 22 of 36 games were televised.....probably more worth it if you don't have Sky Sports.

Yeah, perhaps. Attaching laptop to TV is easy enough these days.
In addition, think of those supporters outside the UK who can't see the SKY matches?

Yeah its good for them. I personally don't think our website is good for showing videos though. It proves very much hard work!

It does seem to fall over every time there is a big news story (think it broke down for days over the period Joel announced he was off to RU and Sam signed an extension).
However, we are Wigan and if it's found that Hull KR can make this work then surely we can as well, bearing in mind our large fan base throughout the UK.
Less than 2900 subscriptions would add £100k to the turnover figures, we need to be looking at how we can increase revenues year on year.

| If it showed u18/20's games and a fair share of classic games on top of the first team re-runs id be all over it.
I'd be willing to pay more then £35 a year as well tbh if it included all that.

| If they had the youth games on I definatley would. I tend to get to nearly all first team games so not too bothered about them being on or not.

| I'd quite happily pay £35 per annum for first team matches, plus full coverage of the under 20's and 18's in action. But it would have to include the latter. I wouldn't pay it for just first team footage. Also I'd hope the game was recorded on better quality equipment than it presently is.

That would be great and I would definately get it. It would be great to see the likes of the Manly and Brisbane games again.

| Yer darn tooting i would.
One of the things that irks me as fan of RL in general is that once the game has finished, unless you have taped it, the chances are that you will never see it again. It happens and then is forgotten
Switch on ESPN or SS and all you see is re-runs of classic football games, we have nothing like that and if it was not for a certain Wiganer1983......... i would have no way of watching all the good stuff from the last 50+ years.
The academy, U20's etc games would be a real boon, as i am aware of the majority of our youth team by name (due to them being mentioned on here) but would not have a clue what they look like or more importantly, what they play like.
The wife might have an aneurysm, but i would 100% subscribe

| I would purchase this 100% a laptap and a hdmi cable would provide perfect TV viewing. This has to be the future for Rugby League £35 for a season's worth of games plus extra footage is extremely reasonable and the potential for sponsorship and advertising would provide an added source of income to the club. IL if your reading these boards please look into this as it would be a brilliant platform on which to further the club's connection with fans and potential fans.

| I think the biggest selling point on this too is that all the away games are going to be shown on it.
I have subscribed to it, and watched the friendly game from the weekend on there, and the pre-season stuff has been very good. All in all, at less than £3 a month, for the year it is a pretty good deal.

Agreed. Hadn't thought about the additional sponsorship on the back of this, great idea.
Paul (Bondi), if you could give IL and SC a nudge in the direction of this thread please.......

I agree. I believe that the Wigan friendly on Sunday will be filmed and shown midweek next week. If Hull KR had a facility to purchase the showing of the game (via limited access to the site) for a one off fee of £3 how many Wiganers would jump on this as well?
