Watching the Latics v Liverpool match on Sky the pitch seems to be cutting up badly. Not surprising really when you consider the amount of rain we have had in the last week or so but no doubt as soon as our season starts it will be Wigan Rugby who cause the pitch to be in a poor condition icon_biggrin.gifEPRESSED:

This argument again? In all honesty considering the weather we had I think it looked orite. especially in comparison to what it has looked like in recent years at this time of the year.

It cut up a bit but I've seen it far, far, far worse than that. Just a natural consequence of 2 games in 5 days I suspect.

In the best condition it has been for a long time at this time of year. No game now until Jan 3rd so should be fine.

It's the football that uses the middle of the pitch most :S as goes the saying "win the battle in the midfield win the game"

Anti Rugby propaganda journalism from Marcus Kwesi O'Mard, if you want to inform Marcus of not only his pathetic knowledge regrading Rugby League fixtures use this.

To be fair what would you expect a journalist of the "New England Sports Network" in Boston, USA to know about Rugby League lol.

the pitch has an irrigation system with some plastic turf in it to hold it together

with the technology available today and good basic groundsmanship there's little excuse for such a bad pitch (like Stade Toulousain) even considering the rainfall levels in the northwest

it's not rocket science - just intelligent turf maintenence

icon_lol.gif not much, but still if the main point in your article is how bad the DW Stadium's pitch is get your facts right very amateurish journalism.

Not much, so perhaps he would be better sticking to what he does know about, as oppossed to just regurgitating stuff he found on the net.

I see Dogleish was having a moan. Maybe it was the pitch that stopped Johnson missing an open goal and Adam missing a penalty. His comments about the crowd having a go at Suarez were cringeworthy, God knows how he would have reacted had Liverpool lost.

Hes like a stereotypical grumpy old man from TV isnt he? haha I dont understand Liverpool they can play well one week and then be a shambles the next. I dont see how he can moan about Suarez though. Sure theres a little bit of "did he really do it" due to there seemingly not actually being any evidence but at the end of the day the FA have found him guilty and so to take advantage of that 14 day suspension of ban rule is stupid because hes obviously going to get stick! Its as stupid as if Tony Smith had come out and moaned about people barking at Joel Monaghan!
