| What a fantastic farewell party for Westy last night at St. Judes A.R.L.F.C.
Denis Boyd probably summed it up best when he said that only two outsiders have ever really been taken to the heart and town of Wigan. Billy B and Westy.
Great night and Trevor Wallace is still as funny as ever.

Tommy Leuluai has also loved his time in Wigan.

| But Tommy, Bell and Richards have only stayed a relatively short time. Westy has done 29 years and Billy B nearly 60 years, and are well respected not only in Wigan.
I suppose Jim Sullivan would have been another one.

| A lot of people use the word "Gent" when talking about Westy, well I was his next door neighbour for a number of years, and can tell you he was exactly that, an absolute giant of a human being, both inside and out, even at my then grand old age of about 40, I have sat in awe of the guy over a beer in summer in the garden as he looked back, and put a name to every scar he has on him, some funny stories, stories and times I'll never forget, I can honestly say it was an honour and privelage to meet and know the guy and his family, and I wish him all the luck in world as they returns to NZ.
Take care big fella, it's been a pleasure.
