| I know what you mean Gareth but he could be of value in many different roles within RL.
He worked in the proffesional game for over 15 years. He is the most decorated player in RL History. He worked with Wayne Bennett in Aus to work on his coaching. He was captain for Wigan and his country - a natural leader.
How on earth has RL allowed such a man to work in the rival code for the last 10 years?
He should be playing a lead role in the England national set-up IMO. He doesn't have to be head coach but his experience is being lost from this game.
I remember him saying he would come back to coach Wigan someday, I hope he stays true to his word. I would love to see him coaching at Wigan if IL thinks he is fit for the job.

The RFL would need to seriously get their fingers out and sort out our sport before he will come back to league

| At the end of his career, Edwards was a beneficiary of a personal coaching development bursary from the RFL which he used to help forge a successful career as a rugby union coach. Now the nine-time Challenge Cup winner has repaid the RFL for their generosity by providing the finances required to give a current coach the same opportunity.
"Eleven years ago the RFL very kindly provided me with the finances to travel to Australia and spend some time learning from Wayne Bennett when I had been out of work and without a coaching job for about a year,” said Edwards. “That experience provide me with a great experience and great advice which helped me in my coaching career."

What's funny about that?
Our sport's governing body gave a playing legend a very large helping hand and he went to union not long after. Maybe this is a way for him to clear his conscience.
I don't see how the RFL are to blame for anything here and I certainly don't see the funny side of our sport being used to climb the sporting ladder.

| The sad part is that the RFL and London Broncos in particular couldn't see what a gem they had.
I've always said that Edwards wasn't the most gifted player I have ever seen but he the first Wigan born player I would have on my team, every time, because of his talent, attitude and dedication.
I also believe he has brought those attributes to his coaching and would do exactly the same in RL.

| I surely believed Edwards will be back sometime in the near future hes heart is with Wigan always was always will be. Money is not the end all and be all Shaun will already be financially secure for the rest of hes life make no mistake about that. Shaun was always thinking ahead three tackles in front of play hes tactical head was unreal and i truly believe he will coach Wigan one day and the quicker he comes back to Wigan the better for me because when he returns it will be for the long haul and this is when silverware will become second to non and could break even more records imho.

I totally agree with every word WPM, and lets face it how many of us would consider giving an organisation a huge chunk of money when we were out of a job? I think he'll be the next Wigan coach if IL thinks it will be good business sense.
