I hear the 2012 Magic weekend will be at Ethiad Stadium, Manchester the first weekend in June. I think this is a good move by the RFL. I still think creating an extra fixture is unfair and will be interested in how they do it.

Well you've hit the nail on the head. It's unfair that we'll more than likely have to play Saints a main rival of ours, while another team challenging for the league will get a far easier match up.

Personally I'd scrap MM, and instead have a nines tournament at the start of the season at the Ethiad stadium, involving all 14 SL teams plus two invitational sides. Maybe employ a rule where by all SL sides must have so many first team representatives playing. I think that would draw a good crowd as a season opener.

if we keep it up north, a random draw will bring in the crowds imo.

We must get 40k+ on both days for this Magic Weekend if it is up North. I would hope to see Eastlands full.

Was really looking forward to Cardiff. I think it worked as the opening fixture.

If its at the COMS then I'll go for the Wigan game and no others. I've no reason to stay around for other games & will make my 20minute journey home. Simple.

Been to Eastlands a couple of times with Liverpool, its far too open and its an awful atmosphere, and thats when its full.

And that's the reason this is a terrible idea (to move it up north). Being in Cardiff or Edinburgh would be much better.

I don't think the venue matters a great deal but if we have to have it then it's much more convenient up here. The timing is better if it is in June but no matter what, the fixtures are the key to it. As said above, it's unfair for some teams to have 'easier' fixtures.

I will go for the full day that Wigan are playing on. If all teams fans did similar with their team it should be a good turnout. I reckon thats what the RFL are thinking rather thean people going for a full weekend (even though they still can if they wish).

biggest pile of crap going in RL, get rid of this shody farce and give us a 3 game England v Exiles series mid season, would bring in a much bigger revenue and be much more exciting IMO

It's a delayed bank holiday that they are playing on. The usual late May Bank Holiday has been delayed a week, and extended, to 4 days (Saturday 2nd to Tuesday 5th June) for the Queens 60th Year (Diamond Jubilee).

Couldn't agree more, its a farce.

Have that and an England knights vs France series on the undercard and it would benefit the sport much more than a magic weekend imo. With the fact theyve moved it to Manchester suggests to me its either gonna boom and they will keep it or its a complete fail and next season they look for an alternative.

When are the fixtures out ?
MM has run it's course, as for the fixtures we found this season that 2 points in June does not determine who wins the GF.
