Anyone heard anything about MW being at Man City's (whatever it's called, now) ground in May, next season?

I've heard a few whispers. Hope its true. Never been before because of expenses travelling to Cardiff and Murrayfield but would definately go if it was in Manchester.

A good idea imo. Would be easier/cheaper to get there so can only count towards getting more people through the gates. The weekends ive had have been good fun in Cardiff, but I can imagine a lot of fans simply cant afford to make the trip. I've missed it the last few years because of lack of funds. Can't really see any reason to moan about it, Other than the wealthy folk who are happy to pay out a fortune to sit in a half empty cold stadium in February.

It wouldn't be ideal from my perspective. One of the great things about having the Magic weekend in Cardiff is that it is so easy to get to, as opposed to the regular Friday evening nightmare of the journey from Cirencester to Wigan. Surely for my sake alone they should keep at Cardiff!

Wherever this weekend is, if it stays, it HAS to be removed from the SuperLeague competition.

We have the only league that I know of where every team plays every other team twice (home & away), PLUS 1 additional game where some contenders (Wire/Leeds) get and easier game every year (Hudds/Bradford), whereas other contenders (Wigan/Saints) get to play each other. And then to cap it all, these results are used to decide the league.

Either kill it or (better) make it a pre-season knock-out competition (maybe 20 minutes each way) or even (as has been mentioned before) play an entire round of the CC there instead.

But for ****'s sake - DO NOT continue with it as a "normal" SuperLeague round.

How about a system where each club gives up 1 home game every 2 seasons to be played as a magic weekend fixture.
Example would see Wigan saints, Leeds, catalan, huddersfield and bradford give a home fixture up, and the others doing, likewise the following season.

I'd also look at changing the venue, the north east would be fantastic.

If they did that then for example Wigan and Saints would have to give up pretty much their only guaranteed sell out once every 2 seasons!

I'm sort of on the fence with the whole concept. Part of me likes the idea, though it definitely needed moving away from the big 80k stadia and the Etihad would be ideal (I actually called for it to be there last year). Then again I also dont like how its an extra fixture in the table and can also see some big teams getting potentially easier games than others.
I think it could be a decent idea to have 1v2 3v4 etc based on the previous season's league table, though derbies would be a bigger draw.

The other option is to completely scrap the idea and use the extra weekend to stage the mid season international therefore meaning international players dont have to back up and play 2 games in 2/3 days.

Personally i would like to see the RL community really come together and support our own. E.g. Take this concept to Leigh sports village there is a hotel, there for some if needed , Local community clubs who could E.G put beer festivals on for all visitors and food tents and games for kids.

I like the idea of that, but Leigh Sports Village would surely be too small to hold the crowds?

Just an example mate, my point is lets look after our own in the heartlands rather than line the pockets of RU heartlands
