| Lets look at today in perspective.
We've just won the CC, excellent. Lost to wire, but we were coming off the back of 'the cup hangover' up against our main rival who have had an extra weeks prep. All in all we had it against us before the whistle was blown.
So what have we lost? Possibly the league leaders shield. NOT the GF. So come the end of the season if we win the GF today will hardly count for anything.
It's important to learn from our mistakes and be sure to be 100% ready for them if we meet again in the GF.
On our day we can beat anyone, including wire.

| Correct. This isn't hindsight, I genuinely didn't expect us to turn over Warrington today. Being asked to back up for after the physical and mental battering we had in the Challenge Cup final is something I just couldn't see us doing.
The reality of the situation is that Super League title ambitions do not rest on today's outcome. After the jubilation and euphoria of last week this will serve as a reminder of the fact we still have an important job to do in the league. We've lost Gaz Hock, but hopefully Lee Mossop will come back into the frame.
Look to next week. Get back to winning ways before the play offs and then take each game as it comes.

Rather have our game this weeked than Wire's. Hull have a slim chance on last nights performance of beating them. Cant see us losing to Crusaders on friday. Wire struggle to back up in games after a big win. Finishing top is handy if you win your first play off game and that for me is the problem the team that finishes top should be guranteed home advantage wether you lose your first play off game or win it.

Just remind us again how many key players did Saints have missing in last years grand final ?
When did you actually last beat a strong Saints or Warringtom team ? Don't include beating us last year at the HJ, we had a lead of around 14pts and were cruising then we lost both Briers and Monaghan, another example of Wigan capitalising on other teams misfortunes.[/quote:qtnftxzx]

| We can still beat Wire.
We can still beat Stains.
We can still beat anyone on the day.
We can still win the grand final.
I expect us to come back from this more determined, stronger and with more hunger.
Bring it on.

| I personally didn't think we'd win. I think a few Wiganers were expecting defeat.
I expected better than that though

My thoughts too.
I don't know how many issues need fixing. We just had a poor day. At times it was the very basics we weren't doing. Not catching the ball from the kick off.Mr consistency Harrison Hansen knocking on in his own ten and gifting a try - how often does he do that? Sam Tomkins rolling the ball into touch when we had an overlap. A fortunate bounce off Leuluai's leg for Briers to score. Joel Tomkins (IIRC) coming flying out the line for Monaghan's try (IIRC). So much drop ball too. I would love to know what our error count was like.
Look at the tape once. Forget about it. Move on.

| I expect nothing else from this team! They will be so determined to win the GF, like in the cup when we are in that mood we are unstoppable.
Still have every confidence in this team, i never expected a win today, and if it was the other way round and Wire had just played in that game at Wembley I would have expected us to do the same to them.
The most important thing is for us to win the first play-off game because a week off will do us a world of good.

| We have took their Challenge Cup so they would obviously be determined to take our Leaders Shield.
I'm confident that we won't let them win in the Grand Final though

| We beat ourselves today from the first minute to the hooter. I'm a realist and I know how good Wire are. They're first rate but they didn't have to play that well to win today and that's encouraging from our point of view. There was holes all over their defence and a 'proper' Wigan could take advantage of those.
If we pull ourselves together we'll go on and have a good crack in the play offs. If we don't then our season could fade away.
Either way 2011 has been another good year.

| I could never see us winning today but I did not expect us to play as poorly as we did, we will not play that poorly again. Outclassed by a very good side on the day. We just never clicked.
I hope we rest the bulk of the team next week they look if not physically emotionally drained. A week off will freshen them up.

| Well done to Warrington, they took advantage of a Wigan team who weren't at the races; Whether that had something to do with Wembley or Warrington being very good (or a bit of both) we will never know.
We have come off the back of a really intense 2 mth period and what i do know though is that this was likely to come at some point, I am glad the kicking has come now rather than the final eliminator.
What the last few weeks have shown us is that Leeds, Sts and Warrington are going to be no pushovers and this should provide the ultimate tool to refocus the players of the task in front of them.
Saying this, regardless of todays result we still only need to win 3 games to become champs again. We have proved that we are capable of doing this over the last month against the same opposition, Wire still have to prove that they can back up in consecutive weeks against the best there is.

| We would have lost against any of the top 8 today, and just about struggled through against the bottom teams.

Agreed, judging by how Wigan usually react to a defeat, it'll re-double our efforts and determination.
