| Upmost respect for wire, but seeing him rip up the defence like that was the highlight of this year.Talk about bouncing up and down in my chair!
Outstanding. as good as sean edwards for me. When sean edwards had the ball, the stadium errupted, as it does with sam, Shows how good he is to me. take a bow son.

| He still needs to learn when to pass. Far too often he tries to run through the gap - it's getting predictable.

Funnily enough, I've just put the game on again and watched that try. Sam's in danger of becoming an all-time great even at his tender years.
But - a different player to Edwards. Edwards was a lethal support player and distributor. He could back up on a halfpence and spot the tiniest gap in the defence to put his runners through. He was also a great motivator. There have been better ball players and runners, but Edwards definitely had the 'X' factor.
Sam is undoubtedly in a higher skills bracket - his evasive running is out of this world, his hands and kicking are outstanding and getting better and better every week. His only weakness for me is the tendency to try and step on every run. A good dummy & step is more effective when the opposition don't expect it, and at the moment they know he's likely to go himself. But right now he's simply awesome and getting better.
I've seen more comments saying "I don't like Wigan or Tomkins but he's special to watch" today than ever. That says something.

I do kind of agree, however, Is this not the risk you take for the chance of a break? By all means he is not going to get away with it every time he tries. however its the risk he takes and it seems to pay off when its really needed. Sometimes i think "You greedy so and so!" but then again, i think when he scores a try..What if hed have passed and it wasnt a try? double ended sword for me!... Still. Watching him run through warrington like that was immense... Still shaking my head at the beauty of it!

| People have said he isn't as good a runner as Slater. I know who I would have in my team after today.

Slater rips open SOO, NRL and International defences.... Tomkins rips open SL defences, big difference.

Slater also drops more than the odd clanger. But yeah, Sam is British and plays for WIgan so clearly it's all hype.

No slater is just better as he proved at International level... If Jarryd Hayne played in SL he would be the top try scorer every season, and score tries like Sams today for fun, the backs in the NRL are just far better than their SL eqivalents.

You're right, Sam's not actually that good.
Doesn't say much for Wire then, that he took the proverbial p:ss out of you lot and skinned your defence alive a few times today, does it?

No I said NRL players are just far better i.e how Saint George dismantled Wigan with ease after travelling half way across the world.... Carmont being one of your best players, but a second rate Aussie etc etc
Not rocket science.

Carmont the second rate Aussie who is Samoan and was captain of Samoa when we signed him.

With ease? All of a 6 point win? Only a clueless blinkered monobrowed idiot would say St George found that game easy or Wigan were never in it.
And is this the same Carmont who was the subject of a Newcastle Knights petition to keep him at the club? Must be a second-rate player for them to want him to stay so much.
Your team was dismantled by an average Tomkins and second-rate Carmont.
