Didn't think I would ever see Tony Smith one of the more professional coaches jumping on the whinging bandwagon but alas he has Clearly mind games but pretty pathetic all the same. Its a poor attitude from a coach that says we shouldn't win at all costs.

| Watched an interview with him on the superleague website where he mentions his team wanting to entertain the national tv audience and how both sides should be trying to do that. He also asks the Wire fans to put pressure on the ref.
A worried man?

| I'm sure Madge and IFL will do as they normally do when opposition coaches try and play these minds games- treat it with total disdain.
To be fair I am not sure Tony Smith is really having that much of a go - certainly others have said much stronger things. The SL table shows that Wigan are the second top points scoring team - so the defensive tag isn't really that valid anyway.

The defensive tag has never been valid, we were the top points scorers last year and are second this year with some "favourable" fixtures still to come

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

| "That's why people turn up. If we get too much into win-at-all-costs, at the peril of entertainment, we'll be limited to how long we're in jobs."
Don't we have a higher attendance average than them? If so he needs to check his facts before insulting people.
In all honestly I held him in high regard, I still do, but he's just fallen down a little.

Its just petty mind games, like Nathan Brown last season. Worried man maybe?

| All mind games. Don't get caught up by the headline. All games are won by defence, Mr Smith knows that as much as anyone. IMO he is simply trying to get into the heads of the Wigan players to try and play a more expansive game and take more risks therfore increasing the chance of mistakes and putting his team in a better position.

| I think what he says is fair - he DOES value attacking rugby. He hasn't just developed this ethos in the lead up to a game against Wigan, he's always had it.
Warrington DO play a very different style of rugby to Wigan.
I don't know why it would upset you - Smith has his ethos, Maguire has his ethos. Smith is clearly proud of the way his team plays the game, Maguire is happy as he has the SL trophy.
Journalist trying to sensationalise Smith's comments and Wigan fans falling for it IMO.

| Not sure why people feel at all aggravated by this! Smart journo work at best and Smith refused to comment on Wigan's style of play anyway, due largely to the fact that it is not up to him to judge any team but his own.
