Seems just to not have kicked on in the Championship because he was looking a class player in the 20s, was just wondering if he looked any better in SL?

I thought he went reasonably well. Needs to shed a bit of weight and improve his fitness though. He made decent meters after contact and used his footwork nearly every time when driving the ball in. One thing about him I do like is the fact that he hits and spins in the tackle.

I think we mustn't forget that he's only twenty years of age and although he's struggled this year form wise, last year he was in great form and showed good signs of becoming a very good prop IMO.

Think hes worthy of a new deal? I get the feeling is gonna be one of those that peak really late, just depends on whether our management think hes worth waiting on.

I'd give him a new deal for sure. A season long loan with some other SL club would be ideal.

Saying that we might need him at Wigan. At present we've got in the frontrow next year; Mossop, Lima, Fielden, Prescott, O'Carrol, Davies and Crosby. While it seems plenty, if we do happen to lose any of the first four we may be in trouble.

By and large props tend to peak going into their mid to late 20's, barring the odd freak like Burgess or Graham, because the amount of physical development that's required simply takes longer for forwards. From the little I've seen of him I think Davies has shown the potential to be a SL-level forward in the future. He just needs to keep working hard to get in the right physical shape

If he lost weight i am confident he could be a force in a few years time, just like Liam Farrell has come from nowhere, i rate him very very highly.

Neither he nor Crosby have improved as much as I'd hoped they would this season with their loan deals, but I still think both are good long-term prospects.

Agreed. He's been excellent in the games I've seen this season, and was my MoM on Saturday (admittedly against a poor Wakey side).

Says on twitter he has sorted his future out , but he can't say anything yet. But sounds like it's away from Wigan .
