One eye on a midweek fixture? Doing "just enough" to get the win?
No point putting in a top class performance on Leeds to then lose to Castleford. Scraping a win with plenty left in the tank is much better.
Still should have taken the two though.

| We went back to doing just enough which I now feel fine with after the past 2 weeks. I think we proved in that Saints game and then against Huddersfield that were still a fine team and when the heats on we'll produce the goods.
I think we also saw that the past couple of weeks had taken some gas out of the tank and a couple of rests should be given on Wednesday.
I think another factor in our performance last night was just that Leeds played very well. They've outplayed is for long parts of 2 games now but the good thing for us is that we've still taken 3 points.

This.
Thought Leeds would be fired up against us especially after derby defeat last week. Last season we would have considered any match against them as massive. They're not as strong this year but the way they played it's turned into 3 big matches in the last 3 weeks. Looked tired to me at times. Time to make a couple of changes

| Our kicking game needs serious work.
If we kick chase from our own half it ALWAYS goes down the throat of the opposition full back or winger. Worse still when were attacking on their line we really are a one trick pony .. Kick it cross field for pat. I don't know what the stats are but wouldn't mind betting that we have a poorer record in securing goal line drop outs and repeat sets of six than most teams in SL.
The variety and quality of our kicking is not good enough and needs a

It was weirdly re-assuring to see Madge look furious last night - at least its clear that there was things that he wasnt happy with and im sure he knows that against better opposition than last night ie Warrington we are going to be given a harsh lesson again if we don't become more consistent in areas of our game.
The kicking was poor last night - i was relieved to see some of the kicks go dead rather than straight into the arms of Webb because he looked pretty dangerous with the ball last night.
Also some of our passing is very predictable - thats why some of our passing seems almost suicidal - for all of Brett Finches improvement over the last few games (and im not making him a scapegoat here) some of his passes are so predicatable - our half-backs really need to mix it up a bit.
Credit to Leeds - they played well and almost got a win.

| We clearly don't have to push ourselves as much against these average middle table sides.

Not a fan of that approach. Get the win sorted first. Then look at the next fixture. I'm ok with resting players and rotation etc. but we've got a strong enough squad to not worry about how much juice players will have in the tank to beat Cas and Quins. If players are struggling today after last night, bring someone else in for them. Go 100% or don't play
We could have very easily have lost last night and if we had the "doing just enough to win" approach would have cost us two points, if that's what the approach really was. Personally I think it was just a bad day at the office for us with a lot of loose play and dropped ball, combined with Leeds turning up for a change

Romain Navarrete: “I’m very happy to have signed for Wigan Warriors. As soon I knew that Wigan were interested, they were the only team that I wanted to sign for. To me, Wigan is the biggest Club in Rugby League and it will be an honour to pull on the famous Cherry-and-White jersey next year. I look forward to working with Shaun Wane and the players at Wigan.”:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10172.jpg |

This.
It's easier to 'do enough' when you're four or five tries ahead. We were never in control for the players to think they had it won.
