Should be quite and interesting little tussle icon_rolleyes.gif

Many are still not convinced about Lima yet, but this could be his defining moment so far !

Certainly a game for Lima to show what he's capable of.

Lima needs to step up on Friday for me, getting outshone by the other forwards at the minute. Not playing badly, just dont think we're getting 100% out of him yet.

All the hype about him before the season he's not lived upto but he's still getting settled over here and at the club i fully expect him to be smashing people over the next month

Think thats a bit harsh fair enough he's not done anything to make him stand out but he's done the work asked of him

Like I said he'd not been playing badly, just think Preccy, Mossop, Coley, Hoffman, Farrell and Hansen are playing so well he's not being noticed as much. Look at the MoM voting on Bilko's site, not even had a 3rd place vote yet whereas as the rest of them are consistently getting a lot of votes. I just think that from one of our marquee off-season signings and seeing what he has done in the past for both the Storm and NZ that there is plenty more to come from him, especially going forward.

A little OT, but just to illustrate how well Prescott is playing, Paul's stats when compared against Morley (considered one of the best props in SL) are very competitive.

As are Lee Mossop's statshttps://www.superleague.co.uk/statistics_player.php?hs1

Prescott and Mossop have had a great start to the season. Lima isn't doing anything wrong, it's just that Prescott and Mossop are doing very well indeed, as are The Hoff and Lockers, who are both in superb form.

Friday is going to be a cracker.

While I agree Lima is doing nothing wrong I personally do not think that is a ringing endorsement for a high profile overseas signing. I expect much more from him but I am happy to give him time as it is very early days.

Mossop for me has been our stand out forward and and for me the most likely player to go from the younger generation that could go on to really shake the Aussies up with his style of play.

This season mainly due to minor knocks Morley has been used fairly infrequently, plus when he hasn't been needed he's been brought off, i don't know if a conscious decision by TS to possibly prolong Morleys effectiveness, he is getting on now tbf.
The guys I'd be more worried about at the moment are Gaz Carvell and Ben Harrison.

Actually Prescott stats hold up equally well against Carvell.

Does Harrison play prop or secondrow for you guys? If my memory serves me right he was named at secondrow against Quins, but that's no real indication of which position he actually played in.

Lima has been the victim of over hype IMO, and many have seen the Youtube stuff and formed an understandable opinion, however my own view is that he is a honest hard working prop who theoretically we should be getting more game time out of, but as it stands he is roughly on a par with Feka for the amount of game time, yet Lima is far fitter than feka will ever be and this is hard to fathom.

The big game atmosphere of Friday should be motivating for Lima and i hope he shows what he's really capable of

Yed, is the 4 year contract Morley signed looking like it was too long or do you reckon he can still do a job ?

Agree re Carvell on his game he is a very good prop

I'm inclined to agree. I have always conformed to the theory that your overseas players to both justify their wage packets & a place above an English player must be one of the best players in your squad and one of the best players in their respective positions in Super League. Ryan Hoffman epitomizes exactly that. Jeff Lima is being pushed very hard with Paul Prescott and Lee Mossop performing so well, but the bloke is a New Zealand international whose played around 100 games for a top NRL side. I expect more and I think we will definitely see more. It's only been three Super League games from him so far and each week he has approached the 100 meter mark, which is good, but once the grounds have hardened up & he has had a few more games I hope we can see him make that 100 meter per game target. A lot more responsability is on his shoulders with Stuart Fielden out for the next 3-4 months. However, I definitely think Madge sees him as more of an impact player off the bench.

He missed out on the chance to play in the WCC challenge and the only real big game he has played in so far for us (St.helens Millenium Magic) he was very good. He got a positive rapport from the Wigan fans - and Warrington fans to be fair - in the pre-season game against Warrington. I look forward to seeing how he goes against one of the best packs in the league.
